So so on glass tile

I bought this tool to cut 3x6 glass tiles for my kitchen backsplash. The cuts were not always clean and some tiles were chipped. I guess if you are using it to cut regular tiles, it would work fine. The other reason I have it 3 stars is the design of the handle bar and the plastic measuring and placement tool that is meant to measure the tile and help keep the tile in place while you score and snap the tile. The scoring tool often gets caught while I tried to score the tile resulting in uneven...

Seeing that I have been using the one my husband has had for the last 20 years this one seems to be an improvement. :)

does the job

Great for the price. Does the job. I had no problem lining up my cuts. Perfect for light tile jobs.

Tile setup

Used on glass tile and worked very well. Worked well on small pieces, too. On very small pieces that wouldn't "snap" on the jig' I was still able to score the pieces and snap with pliers or other handy tool.

Can't cut a straight line on 12" tile

The metal is too flimsy and can't cut a straight line on 12" tile. It leaves a bowed edge.

Works well for single use

Works great if you need a one time cheap solution for a small project. Hard to line up the cutter with the mark on your tile.

Tile cutter

Worked well. Had a little trouble keeping the tile square for cutting but di a good job. I tried a tile saw blade and all it did was chip the tile. Nice surface straight lines. Underneath was not always a great cut.

Works well for the price

Works well for the price, but don't expect the included stop to be even a little reliable, it's made of a very flimsy plastic and measurement markings are not accurate. As for the actual cutting of tile, it works exactly as it should. Durability remains to be seen.

Hard to operate

This tile cutter is mostly plastic, lightweight, and hard to operate because of that. The tiles often broke wrong. I should have spent more and gotten the heavy-duty metal one like I used to have.

Clean cuts

Very happy with this cutter. Easy to use with clean cuts.

Flawed design

Mine never scored the middle part enough because of the way the handle is designed, it's about an inch too short. Really had my hopes up and was greatly disappointed!

too flimsy

Too flimsy for anything but the thinnest tile. Ends up taking longer than just using a wet saw

Just what we needed!

After trying a special blade for cutting porcelain on our drill, we decided to give this a shot. And it works REALLY well. Much cleaner cut than the special blade.

Poor design. Only cuts ceramic!

Maybe I didn't do a thorough job reading before I purchased this, but I found out afterwards that this is only rated to cut ceramic tiles. I was unable to get a clean cut with my porcelain tiles. I figured it was no big deal; I will just run out a get a stronger cutting wheel. Nope. You can't seem to buy them anywhere. It also says it comes with 2 cutting wheels, but I could never find the extra one. It seemed to only come with one. I ended up having to return this. I guess I'll have to ...

Snap Cutter Review

This is the first time I've used a snap cutter. This particular one is excellent. I was able to cut the majority of my project with this cutter and it is very accurate and easy to use.

PRICE POINT PERFECT

I’M not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I suppose it’s possible I recieved an updated SKU. For the price it performs exceptionaly well. I finished an entire tile job with ZERO broken tiles. The cut quality was not on par with a $200 unit, but I have no complaints. Nothing subpar was visible after the grout was applied. If you’ve used a scratch tool a lot, this is fantastic. If you’re new to the product, watch a few videos. Overall a great piece of kit for very little money.

Great product

We bought this to get smoother cuts on our 12" subway tile. It did a great job. Use a light touch. They turned out nice and smooth for me. When my husband used it, he pressed down harder and it wasn't as smooth. Very good value.
