Humidifier meter

Bought it to check the humidify against a new dehumidifier. Agrees. Do not expect this to be exact just close.

Simple, inexpensive and accurate

I bought the hygrometer to put in a musty old basement prior to replacing the window (which had been sealed up for may years due a break.) The humidity read 85%. After I replaced the window and allowed air circulation the reading went down to 42%. So I know that it does the job. This is a great buy with no technical parts to mess with.

Simple-works!

Got it as a replacement to a digital, highly inaccurate Accurite hydrometer( that didn't have a calibrating option). Listened to other reviewers and calibrated right after I got the hydrometer. This one is a keeper. Ordering a second one for a different area.

Yes Everybody have to follow the directions of rpsproducts.com visit tips/advice webpage and follow the instructions. If you have another hygrometer already calibrated then all you need to do is open the front cover, then dial up/down the humidity pod to the same marker as measured by the other one as a reference. You can check this tip from the pdf on that website. As per directions I added mine which was calibrated and adjusted to match the digital one from acurite.

Works but cheap

Serves its purpose but it’s so cheaply made plastic body was broken just owning the package

TERRIBLE (I EVEN CALIBRATED IT!)

I purchased the updated version, now sold in stores. It has a slightly different face than the one shown in this picture. It also has a temperature gauge. I calibrated it per the websites instructions to ensure accuracy. Its a complete mess on the reading of humidity and the temperature gauge is about 6 degrees off. I'm so disappointed. What a waste of time tracking it down online, finding a Lowes that had it, and hunting for it with terrible store help, to boot. Oh my. I'll be returning...

It's quite accurate!

I purchased this because I was suspicious of my old hydrometer's accuracy. After purchase I followed the calibration directions and it's been right on the money. No more heavy condensation on the windows and no static cling either. Very pleased. Bonus is that it was at a very reasonable cost.

Moveable

I like this because it doesn't hang on the wall and is moveable to any room.

Mine was defective

Bought this meter to monitor humidity in one of the bedrooms in the house. In my living room I have a humidifier with a built in humidity read out and I also have a wall mounted digital humidity meter. I wanted to check this meters accuracy before I used it in the bedroom. This meter read 20+ points low when compared to the 2 other meters in the living room. I decided to take it back for a refund.

Easy to read but expect to re-calibrate

This unit is easy to read and doesn't require any batteries, however they do not come calibrated properly. We purchased 5 of these and they all read different humidity levels. We used a digital hygrometer to compare them too and had to re-calibrate them to the proper reading. They unsnap easily and after you get them apart you turn the small silver disc that contains the sensor spring to move the needle to the proper reading. They work great after that.

Thing works fine

No issues. Tracks with the digital read out on my fancy shmancy dehumidifier. Other reviewers are just whiners.

Not Accurate

We have an unfinished basement with a very expensive dehumidifier professionally installed (hanging from the rafters) to lower the humidity. When the installer came back a few weeks later and checked the humidity level his digital monitor read 50 while this one read nearly 75. I was so hoping this one would work because I like things simple (not digital). What a waste of time going to lowes for this. I will be returning it.
