I will admit, I was concerned about trying to go with an electric trimmer. I decided to go for it. I am truly glad I did. The variable power control makes it super easy to get it to last the length of time necessary to get my yard work done and that's from the standpoint that it hadn't been done in months. In Love

New to the world of lawn care, but feel like a pro with this! Auto-Feed spool, light-weight and whacks the toughest weeds on high settings! Seems to last a long time on the lowest setting. I don't mind the battery only lasting 30-45 minutes (depending on the power you need) bc I don't do hours of weed whacking a day. One of the best purchases I've ever made. My yard looks great now!

Easy to use

Purchased this unit after my 2 cycle gas powered unit would not stay running. Decided to try a battery powered unit to trim/edge our half acre yard that features a fairly long driveway, split rail fence and several flower beds. Assembly was easy, as was charging battery. Started on the driveway and only got half way around before I RAN OUT OF LINE! Obviously B&D puts a short roll on the unit in the box and had I not purchased extra spools, I would have been very mad. Surprise, Surprise

I bought this trimmer taking a chance that it might not work, but if it did, I would be money ahead. The only words that I can think of is "surprise, surprise". I have 1.5 acres and it's enclosed with a chain link fence. This trimmer trimmed around the fence outside and inside, around my outbuildings, home on 3 charges. Very good trimmer does all that it promises. If it had wheels on it like the Works Trimmer it would be perfect.

Good Purchase so far

Thought about buying a gas trimmer for my 1/3 acre lot but decided to give this trimmer a try. Having used it just a few weeks now, I'm very happy with it. The first time I used it, I set the power level at 6 (max) and didn't have quite enough juice to finish the yard. Typical of lithium ion batteries( I use them every day in my work) you have almost full power until the last 30 seconds or so, then it just dies. My trimmer just came in yesterday. It was easy to assemble and the battery charged very quickly. It was raining out so I only had a limited tryout. So far it far exceeds my corded weed trimmers. I have 3 corded ones and they are awkward and troublesome to use. I'll know more as soon as the weather allows me to finish trimming. I'm impressed up to this point and hope it continues to do so.

Trimming is my new favorite thing!

Charged up the battery, assembled it (easy), and away I went. Trimmed all around the house on the lowest setting with total ease. Very lightweight, relatively quiet for what it is, and the automatic line feed is a joy. I've only used it once, and I know it could explode tomorrow and take out the entire neighborhood, but somehow I doubt that will happen. Bad battery in less than 1 year

I purchased the LST136 in Spring 2012 to replace my 15 year old (still working) Toro corded electric trimmer. I wanted to go with a cordless trimmer because I was tired of dragging a 100' extension cord around the yard whenever I needed to use the trimmer. Better than expected

i was tired fighting with my gas powered trimmer and decided to try a cordless. wasn't sure how much power it would have or how long it would last. Very happy with this trimmer

Did great job on yard lots of power. Ran on 6 setting for about 30 min. in fairly heavy weeds on full charge. Will try lower setting next use now that the weeds are in control. Battery life could be longer but I think this is the case with all cordless tools.

Excellent So Far

Similar to one of the other reviewers, I just bought a new house (coming from apartment life) and needed a trimmer. I have a fairly small yard (1/3 ac.) and don't have a ton of stuff to trim around. So the hassle of a gas powered trimmer seemed excessive for my needs. And there is no way I'd drag an extension cord around the yard with me. I was really suprised the power this trimmer has. I trimmed my yard on pwr lvl 2. worked really well. the adjustable power option is a good idea incase you have to trim higher grass. my yard is over an acre so I had to charge the battery to finish up the back. I cut & trimmed the front yard then cut the back while the battery was charging. I plan on purchasing the other 2 pcs of equipment so the additional batteries will be a plus.

I bought this product because I didn't want to have to tussle with gas & oil or electric trimmers. The price was decent and it was very easy to setup and use - good for people that don't want something complicated to put together and use. I used this trimmer/edger for the first time, today. I trimmed and edged my entire yard in about 20 minutes. Max setting used was 3 on the scale. This tool is plenty strong for the average homeowner.
