Nylon gear is a problem

This trimmer works great AT FIRST. I bought one a couple of years ago and about six months in the nylon drive gear was completely stripped. I complained. They sent me a new one (good on that score). A few weeks ago the nylon gear was stripped. Out of warranty so I ordered the part and installed it. Two hours of whacking, the nylon gear is stripped again. I'm going to buy an E-GO. My E-GO mower is superb.

Not Reliable - Stopped working just after warranty

I bought the 40V Black & Decker cordless trimmer because it was lightweight and easy to use. The battery didn't last for long so I purchased a couple of other batteries. One day it just just stopped working! Tried another battery and nothing. Connected the batteries to a B&D Blower they all work. Waste of money.

Useless battery

Have been thru 3 batteries already...they keep a charge for maybe 20 minutes or so of steady trimming...that's it. The battery is only good for maybe half a year. The last battery I got has lasted me all of 3 months and then cuts out at 10 minutes and finally just stopped accepting a charge. Mov'n on to a new and different piece of equipment.

Great Weedeater

I love this weedeater. This is the newer model of the last one I had. I love the fact that it doesn’t have a giant battery.

Easy to use.

This is the second one I’ve owned - first one was a hand-me-down from my father who used it for many years - and after it was given to me I used it for 10 more.

Absolute garbage piece of equipment. Pathetic tool

what a chunk of trash, charger wont hold more than 20 minutes of run time, the handle is held in place by weak Allen keys that constantly loosen up and cause the handle to split in half and they reinvented the "autowinder" spool for the string. Will be purchasing a 2 stroke gas weedeater soon.

Battery

After waiting a week, while watching my grass grow, I got my trimer/edger yesterday and put it together and battery on charge. This morning checked that battery was fully charged and it was. Put it in the trimmer and started using it. It was doing a good job until it quit completely. Checked the power on the battery and had 1 line left. Put battery in charger and a flashing red light told me the battery was BAD. I have another charger for the same battery for another tool. Tried that batte...

Light weight - no string attached

This is a versatile, light weight cordless trimmer. I had a corded Black and Decker string trimmer that died, so I decided to go cordless. I love the auto-advance of the string - do not like the bump-feed or push-button. Never had any problem with the auto-feed feature on my previous trimmer. In fact, the auto-feed was a major consideration in this purchase. Other features (adjustable handle and edging) are similar to my previous trimmer. Misleading battery info

I really like the design and lightness of this product, but it runs out of juice far sooner than my previous trimmer/edger, a Toro Poweredge with 40v/2.5 amp/90wH battery. The specs say that the battery is 40v 2.0 amp/ 80Watt-hours. Those number translate to a brand-new battery being depleted when I've only finished about 80% of the job. This is slightly worse than the performance of my Toro unit with a battery that is almost 4 years old. Would surely not have purchased if I had understood that...

Best trimmer ever!

I've had this same model and used it pretty hard for over 7 years, and just started to have some minor issues. I was upset when local stores didn't have any in stock but I found it online! Bar none ... this has been the best trimmer ever, gas or electric. Light weigh and versatile, strong motor and long lasting battery, no disappointments at all!
