Very Impressive

I became tired of having to tune up and replace parts on my old gas trimmer and decided to give this one a try. Very impressed with the performance! Having a button to add extra power helps. I was especially impressed with the swivel head that allows it to be used as an edger and with the two batteries. With one battery, I am able to edge our driveway (about 50'), our front sidewalk (about 80') and around the trees and shrubs. I may actually be able to sell of the gas powered edger also.

Powerful Cordless String Trimmer

Having used battery powered garden tools for years, I was pleasantly surprised this trimmer equals the power of a corded trimmer. Love having the extra battery ready, even though on my first uses I was able to do 95% of my entire yard on a single charge. I love the edging wheel too. I like it so much I went back for the cordless hedge trimmer. That gives me 3 batteries and 2 charges for unlimited power. My yard never looked better!

Cordless trimmer

I love using this battery powered cordless trimmer. It is lightweight and easy to handle. I had an electric trimmer that was heavy and hard to hold on to. So far I would give this trimmer and thumbs up.

Handy Tool That Gets The Job Done

I've only used it twice and so far its done a great job around my yard. I have over 15000 square feet of property and it edges and trims on one battery with life to spare (ran it on setting "1"). The Wheel guide was a plus - gave me a straight and even edge. Haven't had a chance to put it through the heavy stuff (small bushes, etc.). Would've given it 5 stars but I had to return the first one. Went to snap the battery in place and the whole battery holder crumbled in my hand. Took it back to Low...

Perfect for me and my yard

Read just about all the reviews on this Trimmer and those who gave it low marks are not being fair. This trimmer is perfect for what it was made for and at $99 you know you are not getting a beefed up powerful trimmer. Love it!

So much easier to use that the heavy, gasoline fueled type trimmer. I don't have a large yard, so it may not be durable for larger amounts of property. But for a small to modest sized yard, this works great.

B&D Cordless String Trimmer (20-Volt)

We needed something I could use that is light weight, not gas or electric, easy start. This Black and Decker fits the bill. Excellent price and easy to store. It's great. Good for my needs

I was hesitant. It is definitely lighter. I do prefer a double string, for cleaner lines; and my hand tends to get sore, because you have to pull back on one button and squeeze another, while trimming or edging. The battery life is perfect for my needs. Overall, I would recommend this item for small to medium yards.

Worthless

The salesperson at Lowe's spoke very highly of this product, so I bought it. After taking way too long to charge batteries, they ran out of power sooner than they should have. Edging feature leaves a lot to be desired. I returned it for the gas powered trimer I should have bought in the first place!

Much better than gas trimmers for most yards

I bought this because I was very unhappy with the last two gas trimmers I've purchased. This thing is pretty awesome! I have almost a third of an acre and this thing with trim and edge everything on one battery (barely, but there's a second battery if I ever need it). And, I have chain link fencing around a large part of my yard. Awesome Trimmer!!

Highly recommend the Black & Decker LST 420 Battery-Powered String Trimmer. Comes with 2- 20v lithium batteries, charger and a full spool of string. Says each battery is good for about an hour and I got 40-45 minutes out of each one and that's running it wide open. I love the convenience of cordless and it's fairly lightweight. Very powerful. If you buy it online and pick it up at the store, you can go through Ebates.com and get money back......What!!

Lightweight

I'm a 70 year old woman that does all of my own yard work. This trimmer is easy for me to handle, but not nearly as powerful as a gas trimmer. The gas trimmer was just too hard to start and too heavy for any extended use (anything over 30 minutes). I like the fact that it came with 2 batteries that are easy to change.

I really like this!

My husband and I were looking for one specifically for me to use. The sales person had recommended another brand but I really disliked it. It was way too long, too heavy, and awkward. We took the othe one back and I chose this one as it is light, easy to use, and is perfect for around the yard and light to mid heavy trimming. Easiest weed eater we have ever owned. Good battery life and easy recharging.

This one really goes.

Our first battery-run trimmer just tickles the grass and cuts very little. Then to add insult to injury, it runs out of steam in about 5 minutes. So you can imagine how happy we are with this new lithium battery trimmer! It runs until the job is done and cuts edge grass very well. Our 15-year-old lawn mower fellow picked it up and did everything well with no help at all.
