very disapointed one battery does not work at all.

bought this product for ease of use. Have trouble starting other gas products due to shoulder surgery.

Works Well

I was about to buy two new 18-volt NiCad batteries for my old string trimmer. They would have cost about $80. But, for $20 more, I bought the new 20-volt trimmer with two new 20-volt lithium batteries. It has two performance speeds. The higher speed is great for cutting thick foliage, but runs a battery down more quickly. Lowe's sells two variants. The cheaper one has only one of the 20-volt lithium batteries. It was well worth it to buy the two-battery model for about $100.

Time will tell.

So far the trimmer does a good job. Time will determine the durability of the batteries and the tool itself. I like the adjustability and functionality.

good investment

When my old, corded, string trimmer quit on me after many years, I knew I didn't want to deal with an electrical cord again. Fortunately, these days, there was now an alternative to a heavy duty, gas- fueled model and I think I picked a winner. Light weight, easy to handle, being a woman, this trimmer is ideal for me, I expect it will serve me and my small yard needs well.

Good for $100

Light weight. Comes with two batteries which is nice. Always had good luck with brand. Old corded one still works fine but decided to treat myself ha ha. Got mine on sale for $100 vs $120. I would've paid 120 if not on sale. Quality item.

One of my best purchases ever!!

I love this weedeater. It is simple to use and very lightweight. This is my second one. The batteries will last approximatley 30-45 minutes if you are just trimming or doing sidewalk edges. The heavier the weeds, the less time the battery will last without recharging. My previous weedeater lasted almost two years, still in good condition, but the batteries seem to need charging more frequently after about 10-15 minutes. Exactly what I needed!

For a few years, I have been using a gas powered four cycle trimmer. It is heavy, tricky to start and prone to line breaks that require head disassembly to remedy. i purchased this product today at my local lowes i must say this thing is awesome light weight easy to use lots of power for 20 volt and for a 100 that included 2 20 volt battery's and charger its a great deal i did my whole yard one one charge i got tired before the battery did very easy to use for a disabled person very good product will buy more black n Decker products

Best battery powered string trimmer

I had some trepidation about buying a non-gasoline string trimmer, but this exceeds my expectations. On low power it will cut grass as advertised. On high power it will cut neglected grass with a little effort, but it will cut it. I wouldn't use it to clear high scrub, but only a commercial trimmer will do that. Excellent buy with good battery life. Having two batteries really helps.

Choose another brand

The automatic line advance was inoperable out of the box on the first use with the included spool. The only way to advance the line is to open the spool and pull the line out each and every time. Also, the thumb safety switch is difficult to reach and causes hand cramping. I'm returning this model to Lowes and getting another brand.

Excellent trimmer at a good value!

I'm very pleased with my cordless trimmer. I purchased the trimmer (2) batteries and the charger for approx. $120.00. I knew what I was in the market for and this fit the bill. If your searching for a lightweight, versatile and heavy duty trimmer look no further. It's easily adjustable in length and converts from edger to trimmer in a snap. I've seen some reviews about the trimmer not having enough power, but let me tell you, i cut through grass 20 inches high and it performed. Must have just gotten a bad one. This trimmer is great and I'll never use another gas trimmer. Get one.

20-Volt Max 12-in Straight Cordless String Trimmer

I trust Black and Decker Products and this trimmer has not let me down. Easy to start, easy to use and I don't have to hold it into position since it has a guide wheel that I can use to keep my lines straight and at a unifor height.

Best tool

I can't say enough about how easy this is to use. I haven't even run the first battery down and I've used it four different times, and not having to drag a cord around is the best! The only thing I would change is having to hold the switch/handle to keep it running, but overall, this weed eater works good for me.

Handy tool

This was easy to put together and so far it is running like a champ (I've used it twice to trim around the front yard where the riding mower can't go. It has a two-year warranty, so I have that option if it turns out to be a dud.

Trimmer/Edger 20 volt

This trimmer is easy to use and lasts longer than my older battery trimmer. It will trim around my acre yard on one charge. The edger feature will save me hours of edging by hand on my knees. It easily goes from trimmer to edger and is not heavy or awkward to operate.
