Contract item for sidewalk construction

I am a city engineer, and we provide this item for residents who have their masonry mailbox removed by our contractors (as compensation while all others receive the standard sheet metal one). We have installed hundreds of these--our residents are very happy with this item, and I have not had a complaint about it. We professionally install it of course on new level sidewalk. Problems appear to be damage in delivery--suggest deliver/pick-up at store and inspect it first.

DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME, IT IS GARBAGE

It is 3 years old and the paint is chipping off, the lick is getting harder to open and it is literally falling apart around the post. To add insult to injury, if you try to contact a person as I did today after purchasing a new one, giving the company one more chance, Don't hold your breath for customer service. I spoke to Paula in Accts Rcvble...she blind transferred me, the other end picked up and hung up...I called her back, she transferred me AGAIN, told me to call her back if I did not get...

Missing parts

There were screws and washers that were missing and the lid fell apart in the box with the screws laying in the bottom of the box

Attractive Mailbox with poor quality base

The mailbox itself is OK but the base is really brittle and broke when tightening the bolts. It is not worth the extra dollars that you will spend for the base. My plan is to keep the box, put a better base on it.

Great Purchase

I bought the first one(shipped to my home) which was in broken condition. I returned it to Lowes. I ordered exactly the same which was shipped in a brand new condition. Assembling parts took less than 30 minutes. Fortunately, one doesn't need to dig a 2 feet hole for the post. Installing this Mailbox is much easier than others as you only need to dig 5-6 inches for concrete. Just pore some concrete (60 Pound should be fine), let it dry and then assemble it as per the instructions. It looks beaut...

Pedestal mailbox

When I opened the box, the mailbox was damaged. I called customer service and they said I could return it to the store close to me which I did today, 9-4-2015. I didn't reorder as I read the reviews and they were not positive.

best mailbox on the block

the looks of it are outstanding, mine is white. my mail is secure ! like all the rest of the reviews I agree the waterproof of it sucks my mail gets wet on rainy days. I will silicone the inside roof to eliminate this problem.

Came in damaged but still works.

We had this mailbox (or one exactly like this) at our old home and I liked the security of it being a locking mail box but it can be a bit wobbly but still nice. Also, if it rains a lot your mail will get a bit soggy. Our new one came in broken in a couple of places but we are going to epoxy the little pieces back together. Too much trouble trying to send back and getting another. I'd buy another. Too bad they don't have these in the store.

Buyer Beware

Ordered this mailbox and waited 3 days and when it came opened it and it was broken. The box looked ok on the outside but to have steel with a large break about I inch long. Not to secure. We ended up returning it to the store and buying the more boxy one at a lower price. Hope it will last!!

This is my second purchase of this mailbox. My first I've been using for about 5 years. The mail gets a little wet in heavy rains. It was the only locking mailbox that lets you get your mail from the side and not by standing in the street.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents to replace their old one. This is sturdy yet decorative as well. My parents love it. It was not difficult to install at all. We highly recommend this mail box.

Terrible, weak and flimsy!

Very flimsy. Broke first use. Twists on stand. loose n base. shakes and makes noise.

Second Time Around

This is the second mailbox exactly like this we have purchased. The first one was destroyed by a drunk driver. I love that my mail is secure even when we are not home to check the box. I also like that is looks great with my 100 yr. old home. Only issue is that the mail can get wet if left in the box during pouring down rainstorms. We do not receive checks in the mail so not a big issue for us as everything dries out quickly.
