Specs are incorrect on this box
Would Not RecommendWas completely disappointed when realized the specs regarding Width measurements on the outside of the box PLUS the specs on the product were completely wrong. Reason I ordered was needed a specific width. Showed 7.8” and mailbox is only 7” in width. The container box it is shipped in is 7.8”. Crazy! Buyer beware!!!

Would RecommendThis item is much more sturdy than I had anticipated. We are pleased with it. I would recommend in spite of high price. Steel does cost more.
Pickup truck and snowplow tested
Would RecommendBought this mailbox 2 years ago when we moved in to our new house. First year a snow plow truck hit it. It messed up the door a little, had to bend back the metal, all good. Today a pickup hit it while trying to avoid a cat in the road. The pickup had its hood folded in on itself and the windshield smashed in. The driver was okay, so was the mailbox. Going to get a new post and put the old mailbox back up.

Would RecommendAfter replacing multiple cheap residential boxes at 10 bucks a pop due to vandals I bought this box. It has served me well for many years and held up to multiple rock and bat attacks. Would RecommendThis is heavy duty. Very thick steel. Kids wont be able to smash this box easy. It will withstand snow from plows too.
Secure Mailbox
Would RecommendMy old mailbox, also a Gibraltar anti-destructo type, got clobbered again (3rd time so far) and is was time for it to give up the ghost. Whatever hit it must've sure left a mark. The new welded superstructure mount will probably cause the next one to hit it to call for a tow truck.

Tough mailbox!
Would RecommendThis mailbox is heavy duty! Several years ago I had to replace our mailbox with a plastic one after some idiot hit it with a baseball bat but my wife hated the new mailbox. It was bulky and unattractive. I put up a new wooden post and when I found this mailbox and saw how sturdy it was made I knew it could take a lick and keep on providing a safe sturdy place for our mail to be delivered. And it looks great too!

Not really
It is described as nearly indestructible but didnt stand up to a hammer and Im sure wouldnt stand up to a ball bat either. The steel used is just too thin and still caves in.

Would RecommendIt's the perfect size for all of my packages! My mail man often skipped over my house for scheduled pickups because he didn't want to walk to my door. I replaced my old mailbox with this one and now he has no excuse not to leave them! The extra lip on the front prevents rain from getting inside so I never have any issues with wet mail or packages anymore.
