Would RecommendOrdered the mailbox & wood post online for pickup at the store. Unpacked the mailbox to find that the spot welds holding the magnetic door clasp in place had failed. The mailbox must have been dropped on it's face. The handle for the door sticks out past the front edge of the housing. It's a heavy mailbox, so it was like hitting the bracket with a hammer. Didn't want to breach the housing with a drill to rivet it in place, instead used JB Weld for metal to secure it. Have to wait for next w...

Great Mail Box Except for Bolts
Would RecommendThe mailbox is much sturdier than the cheaper ones and I am pleased with it. However, the bolts to connect the mailbox to the base are too big. I had to buy a smaller size. I would recommend this mailbox, but just be prepared that you mail have to purchase bolts.

Would RecommendThis is our second Gibraltar Heavy Duty Steel Mailbox. Our first (tan color) lasted around 15 years. It was still in good shape, even after many hits from vehicles. We just decided to get a black one to match the one we recently purchased for our parents who live next door. This model is worth the price. We built a post using 30+ year old 6” x 6” posts from an old deck. We notched them like Lincoln logs. It’s super strong.
I wanted white but it only was available in black.

Tough!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one tough mailbox. I live in a very rural area and frequently have my mailbox abused by Vandals. Demolishing this mailbox will take some doing on the vandals part. I order a lot of things by mail and the size of this mailbox will be easy for packages to be put into.I won’t need to replace this mailbox for years to come.

It is made heavy duty, I won't have to worry about this one getting damage by anything hitting it. I also like that the steel hangs over the opening to help protect the mail from getting wet from rain or snow. The door is easy to open, I think being magnetic is a nice upgrade. Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to get a new mailbox but imagine my surprise when this heavy duty mailbox showed up. Our old mailbox has been up for several years, missing the flag, the door doesn't shut properly so this was much needed. I did have to wait to put it up until the ground thawed but the putting in the post was the hardest part. The mailbox is extremely solid and can hold a lot of mail/packages. A Beast of a Mailbox
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super duty mailbox!!! I was shocked to feel how heavy it was. Our previous mailbox had a run in with a snowplow, and while this wont likely stand up to it, it feels like it is far sturdier than our previous mailbox. The black color is visually appealing and looks great. I would recommend to other for sure!
