Good Weather Station but Outside Sensor Not Durabl

This is the 3rd time we've purchased this unit in 3 years. Living in FL, we love to follow the weather and this has great features. However, the outside sensor unit only lasts for about 14-16 months before some features like the outside temperature stops working. I don't know if it was meant to withstand the heat and humidity of FL. We hate to be without the station so we keep buying it and hope for the best. Fan doesn't work - high temp readings

Purchased this about a month ago. Having been noting high outdoor temp readings (~6 - 7F) since installed. Did some research and noted that this unit seems to have issues with the aspirating fan working (seems the solar panel struggles to start the fan when sunlight hits it). Confirmed that mine has this problem. Have emailed manufacturer about warranty but am not expecting much. Otherwise, seems to work fine. Have no idea about longevity though. a great weather watcher

My wife and I are enjoying the weather station very much. We have had an unusual amount of rain this spring and it is interesting to keep watching the progress. We also enjoy the wind indicator among all the other features.

Good Price, Very accurate

I have an expensive weather station, this unit is as accurate as a unit costing 3 to 4 time as much. It's only been installed for a week, we'll see how it holds up. For the price, it would appear to be very hard to justify a more expensive unit.

Great entry level station

I had mine for just under 2 yrs until I broke it. Not worth buying replacement parts from manu, would rather go up a few model level when I buy the new unit. I loved this particular model!

Not Great

The product works well but one cannot see the screen unless sitting up close. The light stays on if you plug it in but that does not help much. No way to control contrast. Numbers are fairly small also. Generally all you can see from sitting about seven feet away is the outside temp. Forget trying to see the scroll at the bottom. Best Weather Station yet!

My husband's favorite gadget of recent years has been weather stations. The only problem he has had is the short life spans and the difficulty he has had in hooking up the outside portions of the weather stations. This Digital Weather Station was easy for him to install and use! He wants to tell everyone he knows about all it can do! Thank you for creating the perfect gift for my husband!

Doesn't last long

I'm getting ready to buy my third unit in five years. The two I've had worked fine long enough to get through the warranty. In fairness, the sensing unit sits on a dock over salt water -- that's a tough environment for anything. It broadcasts at least 300 ft with good reception. But over time things stop working. Very Good Purchase

I’ve been looking at weather stations for a long time. I came across this one and checked it out thoroughly. It had few bad reviews and those were by idiots. I did find a very, very easy way to mount the outside unit. The lower half of the base accepts a length of 1” conduit snuggly. I mounted the base to the conduit (10’ section) and drilled a small hole through the base and then into the conduit, after which I ran a small screw into the hole to connect the two. This unit came with complete instructions and helpful YouTube Video on setting it up and installation. Great for the Novice Meteorologist. Thus far, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Nice Product

I have had this product for about 4 month, I liked it so much I got one for my cousin as a house warming present. It is very easy to install and appears to be very accurate. It is easy to read, when it is plugged it stays back lit. The only draw back is the lack of memory to record high/low each day. It does record the high and low for the month.

Very happy with it

The $49 model we had for 3 years quit working and decided to upgrade to this model. This model has more features and is easier to install and the directions are very plain and simple to understand. Took me about 10 minutes to program and install.

Plenty of features and data, and the history function is nice. Very pleased to see that the monthly rainfall recorded is exactly the same as the NWS number! During the setup though, I found the touch screen a bit 'temperamental' - not always responding to inputs, particularly while setting the time and date. Works as advertised

I purchased the AcuRite model 01515 on 5/29/1; mounted the sensor on a 4x4 7 feet high and it has worked very well. I have a old tube style rain gauge in my garden just a few feet from the sensor location. The rain gauge on the sensor reads almost identical to the gauge in the garden. I have checked the other readings (temp-Humidity-wind speed-heat index, ect..) against WeatherBug reporting for my area and found the Acurite to be right on the mark. Disappointed

Very easy to set up. Wind report method very good but failed after 3 months except during rain showers. Temperatures within 2 degrees except at high temperatures. Display very faint. Rainfall very accurate but prefer daily rainfall to event report. Month rainfall good. Did not apply for warranty coverage.

Acu-rite Station

Am going to be brief, and limit myself to the main issue I have w/ this product. Though it seems to give fairly accurate temp info, the unit has been "forecasting" rain EVERY evening since a day after I put it up! We've had above ave. temps the last week - and absolutely NO indication of rain during this period! This is the second unit I've had with this issue. Am not impressed. Oh, one other thing.
