This works as intended. I used it to seal wall penetrations into the attic before insulating the attic.

3M Fire Block-- Refurbished fireplace door panels

I read directions,shook the can as instructed, and proceeded to fill my 2 inch wide fireplace door cavity tracks only 1/3 of the way full because the product states it expands 200%. It also states that it can be cut after about an hour, so therefore I waited over 2 hours and upon cutting to trim I discovered the foam had a hollow area of unexpanded foam running virtually the entire length of the trim strips.

works great but needs humidity to work better in thick spots. spray some water around the area first

"Fire Block" Foam Unusable Can

I bought 2 cans of foam. One can put out about 1/2 of the normal "YELLOW" non expanding foam can. The other barely got the foam out before stopping. IF I hadnt needed "FIRE BLOCK" I would have preferred the foam in the yellow or red can. I think because the product is a specialty item, sold in the paint department, tucked away in a hole, the turnover of the product is very slow. Thus the cans sit and go bad. The product itself seems very good but unfortunately it totally depends on the dispensin...

Fire Retardant Spray

It is spray for filling gaps with Fire Retardant. I think it is good. I havent seen it during the Fire. Easy to use

3M Gire Block Foam

This product is perfect for sealing up cracks in your firebox. It can prevent a nice, warm, over-sized fire in your fireplace from reducing your shack to glowing cinders! Nothing like a fire inside the walls of the old home place!

Fire stop

Great product to cover gaps between walls and ceiling. Recommended.

Caulk of the town

ok product, does what it should. I do not want to find out if it truly is fire retardant though. Would really like the $ for doing this review though.

Straight to the point

Works exceptionally well in an industrial, commercial kitchen setting for small cracks and holes that would other have the owner tear down a wall to patch the hole. Especially like the fact that it’s specifically designed for fire proofing smaller damaged areas.

More than neeeed

Need smaller cans ... wasted 3/4 of a can ( not used)

I am use to using the fire caulk and it can get really messy, so I tried this and it works really well for my needs. It was really easy to apply and it expanded well to fill the holes. I will definitely use this again.

not fire rated

Don’t let the product description deceive you. This stuff is not fire rated at all. I used it for a commercial application on a firewall and was not approved by the fire marshal inspector. He showed me a field test where he held a piece with a screw driver and lit it on fire. It continued to burn till we blew it out. Do not purchase thinking your getting firestop material. The red fire caulk is the only thing that satisfies the requirement.

couldn't even get it out..

30 seconds into using it and the trigger decided to stop working.. Hard to use a product that won't come out of the can.

But The Great Stuff NOT THIS 3M Item

this stuff is terrible. It doesn't come out of the tube as good as the great stuff is. It's TWICE THE COST. I only bought it because it was all my Lowe's had that day and I couldn't wait for more fireproof The Great Stuff to come in.

wear throw away clothes and cover your hair!

this product expands 200 to 300 percent so use it sparingly. it is extremely tenacious so clean it up IMMEDIATELY and you cannot actually pick the dried product off of all surfaces. if using over head, aim the nozzle into the hole at a 30 degree angle.
