Is it really true - only wineries can grow grapes? Of course not! They can be grown by anyone and are one of the most widely produced fruits in the world. There are, however, many different types of grapes with some more suitable in the home garden than others. Thomcord is a seedless, self-pollinating variety and is heat tolerant. This incomparable blue table grape offers the best of both worlds with the deep lushness of Concord but with the light sweetness of Thompson, and it is aromatic in flavor. It was developed by the Californian grape breeders working for the ARS, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It is a popular supermarket variety but enjoyable to grow on your own.
