Would RecommendThis sharpener works quite well as a small counter top sharpener. Compared to a powered sharpener this will take about 5 minutes to sharpen a dull knife vs.1 minutes with a powered sharpener. The sharpening surface is quite small at 1 ¼” x 5 ¾”. For a larger knife, I needed to do them in 3 sections. To put a good edge to a knife you need to keep a consistent angle of the blade to the surface of the stone. The guide blocks at either end make this quite simple. These blocks are held on by magnet...
Work Sharp Benchstone Knife Sharpener (WSBCHBSS
Would RecommendThe Work Sharp Benchstone Knife Sharpener (WSBCHBSS) is the best sharpener I've owned. Its compact, tri-brasive, and pivoting response base design contains a powerful tool with a small footprint that makes it ideal whether in the shop, on a tailgate, or campsite. The ergonomic design makes use of one's natural body movements to place the proper edge on a blade. The 20-Degree and 25-Degree guides were helpful too. Between the abrasive diamond plates and the fine ceramic plate I achieved a razor...
Simple and effective knife sharpening!
Would RecommendThis thing is simple and effective! The Benchmade Knife Sharpener setup was easy as you just snap in the rotating top to the base. I liked that you could choose to lock or unlock the rotation to allow longer knives to pass through. I was able to sharpen dull kitchen knives to be sharpe enough to shave with! Easy to set up, use, and clean.
Gimmicky
Would Not RecommendThe box says Benchstone Knife Sharpener, as do the instructions but on the product itself, says Work Sharp. Which looks to be the name of the company, but no where on the product is the name of the product. The included instructions under pro tips say, do not use oil or water. On the same instructions there is a q r code to watch a demo video. In the demo video he says, you can clean the stones with a light soapy water suggesting dawn dish soap. This along with the instructions are confusing, wi...
Works, but not great
Would Not RecommendKnife sharpener doesn’t seem like a bad design, but didn't work great for me. I read and followed the instruction, and even watched a couple videos in case I was doing something wrong. Just wasn’t able to get a really sharp edge on either of two folding pocket knives or on two kitchen knives. None of the knives I sharpened are expensive blades, but all will keep and hold a sharp (able to shave hair with) edge using other products. The sharpener seemed simple enough to use. On the coarse (320 gr...
A work smart bench sharpener is necessary
Would RecommendThis knife sharpener is well made. Their web site is very helpful to show you proper method in using the sharpener and angling the knife. My crew has sharpened many knives so far and they are extremely impressed! The sharpener has 3 sharpening levels allowing the best results.
Clean cuts through paper
Would RecommendWe chose this sharpener because we've read the simple pull-through sharpeners can damage nicer knives. This sharpener has 2 grits and a ceramic side for honing all-in-one so you can save space in drawers. We followed the directions for sharpening the blade without water and it worked REALLY well with some practice. The kitchen knife was sharp enough to slice cleanly through paper. The angle guide is really helpful for newcomers to sharpening like ourselves. The plates are small for kitchen knive...
Something Special
Would RecommendI have purchased and/or tried numerous sharpening systems in the past 20 years always looking for an easy to use and effective system. This is the best one I have ever used.
Decent set of stones.
Would RecommendDecent set of stones with 2 of them as diamond style stones and one fine ceramic stone. The holder is ok and has a wobble mode that is supposed to help with curved blades. The angle guides on the end seem to be just a reminder as to where to hold the angel. The instructions are not very good. Tool is ok if you already know how to use stones to sharpen things.
Compact yet effective sharpening tool
Would RecommendThis sharpening tool is the very best way I have found to sharpen my cooking knives and scissors. It has all three levels of file to sharpen correctly your tools. Compact yet very effective at renewing the old kitchen knives and scissors I have. The video on line went through the entire correct process to do so.
Sharpener Worth Buying!
Would RecommendThe benchstone Knife Sharpener is a perfect kitchen addition. I have gone through many knife sharpeners that have good reviews then end up not being anything special. This sharpener is super easy to use, heavy duty and actually gets your knives sharp. We have 3 kitchen knives ranging in size that I tested it out on, all came out super sharp. The base can rotate so you can choose which grit you want to sharpen on, then you lock it in with the two pins. It is not a huge bulky sharpener, it fits ni...
Knife sharpener great
Would RecommendFantastic knife sharpener. Very easy to use, just watch the videos. I’ve sharpened about 8 knives. I’m not even looking at a higher end one from this company. You’ll be happy.
Quality dry sharpener that produces great results.
Would RecommendThis Benchstone Knife Sharpener works great. I like that it is a dry sharpener in that you don't have to use oil or water to sharpen. It has easy to follow instructions where you use 3 positions to do the job. Once on the rough side ,then the fine ,and then the ceramic surface. I have screwed up a knife before because I took off to much material in one spot, but with this you can control the strokes as it pivots to keep the knife in the correct position. It worked good on large items which was ...
Sharp Device!
Would RecommendI like this setup better than anything I've ever used for simplicity and ease of use. It does take some getting used to sharpening dry. I'm used to using oil or water when sharpening. But it seems to do just as well. I experimented with a variety of knives and two pairs of scissors. No problems with any of them and all were sharpened well. Ultimately, I decided to sharpen one of my other half's fine kitchen knives, knowing that IF I screwed it up, I'd hear about it from her! THANKFULLY, I w...
Good knife sharpener
Would RecommendGranted, I am not an expert with knives, so taking on the task of sharpening them is new to me. However, I understand the importance of a good, sharp edge and how dull knives can actually be less safe. I got this knife sharpener to improve the edge on my daily carry pocket knife as well as some of our well used kitchen knives. This is a pretty simple sharpener, but having never used one before, I did have to read the instructions fully to understand what I would be doing. The most confusing th...
Great product i would recommend you buy
Would RecommendWho doesnt need a multi use sharper for knifes , scissors, tools etc. So i gave this a shot and when i got it.. very easy to use. I needed my scissors sharpen that where dull and could not cut anything. I used as directed using all 3 grits and when i went to use the scissors they are now very sharp. i would highly recommend you buying this and keeping it in the kitchen draw for when you need to sharpen your dull knifes or what ever you need sharpened. very stable base when using. Great prod...
Easy to use
Would RecommendExcellent product for Sharpening knives Comes with 3 sides. Course medium and smboth puts a very nice edge On the knife, there are 2 guides settings, 20 and 25°. I think they're kind of worthless but all in all, I really like the sharpener. This Dull pocket knife now cuts paper like butter
Great flexibility with so many tools you can sharp
Would RecommendThis is a great sharpening tool for anyone who likes putting in the work. I wasn’t sure at first about how the stone can pivot but for curved blades it is great! I started with my steak knives that haven’t been sharpened in over a decade. I unlocked the slide so the stones could pivot and it made it very easy to use. I started with the 320 til I felt the burr, flipped to the 600 felt for the burr again and finally the ceramic side. These steak knives are now cutting paper thin slices of tomatoes...
Gets The Job Done With Minimal Effort
Would RecommendBuilt tough and easy to use, this sharpener is a really nice stable platform for sharpening outdoor and kitchen knives. Rotating angle guides, 3 different diamond stones, a locking platform, and wide stones make this one a great tool for sharpening quickly and safely. I suggest a drop of honing oil just to make the strokes consistent and smooth. Skip the course stone and go straight to medium if your knife isn't totally gone. Don't skip the fine stone as it polishes and hones a sharp edge really...
Perfect size for home.
Would RecommendI actually know folks who have purchased new knives and scissors when their old ones became dull. As wasteful as that sounds, it’s nonetheless true. With this product, that doesn’t need to happen ever again. Sharpening only takes a moment to complete and is quite easy. I disagree with the included instructions whereby it suggests to pull the knife toward you during the stroke as an option. Away from you is best and it’s easier to maintain the proper angle. There are angle guides to assist with t...
