Great Softener

Easy to install and setup. Very quiet works great. City water so no iron but calcium would show on bath fixtures and glass. Works excellent at removing calcium white spots Highly recommend to anyone and a good DIY project

This isn’t an issue with Lowe’s—it’s the product itself. A word of advice: don’t follow the instructions too literally. Before adding water and salt to the softener, make sure the control panel is actually working. Now I’m stuck—I can’t return the defective unit because it would need to be completely drained first. Instead, I’m waiting 7–10 business days for a replacement control panel to arrive, and I’ll have to install it myself!

It works

It did withhold requirements of gallon per person of usage. And it is working takin out the minerals and putting in the correct stuff to clean my Water.

I bought this last month to replace a failed water softener from another company. I did a lot of research before settling on this unit. Installation was without issue. We are very happy with it so far.

Well Designed Product

This is a very good product. Well designed and easy to set up. I just did a water test using a test strip and the hardness is at zero. Without the softener the result is around 100. If you have your own well you need this product.

Good Price for the water softener

This Water Softener was a Replacement to our existing one. Same Device. We think it will be as good or better than the old one. Old one Really needed to be replaced.

Soft and happy

Just purchased this unit to replace a 23 yr.old Kenmore unit. Husband installed without too much difficulty. He did use some flexible mesh hosing to match up to existing plumbing. Back to soft water quickly! And quietly...I have yet to actually hear it recharging! I wish it would display "recharging tonight" like my old unit did.

It has added to the quality of my life

I bought this unit for my second home and did not have it installed for use until December 6th 2025. Once installed it made such a difference in my laundry. There was an odor that could not be washed away in the laundry prior to installation. After the unit was installed my clothing and linens smelled so fresh and clean unlike before. removes the iron

44,000 grain water softener works great. Installed for 3 weeks now and the water went from a hardness of 24gpg to 0 and there are no more rust stains in the sinks or toilets. We have well water and I set the softener at 35 to take care of the iron and so far it works great, uses very little salt and regenerates once a week using about 35 gallons, much better for the septic system.

Good unit.

Easy to install and the unit is working fine. Would like a little more information on hardness of water going in and the hardness of the water coming out. Make it easier to understand.

Efficient Use of Salt, Easy to Install and monitor

We are approaching 3.5 months after installation and we are very happy with the new Whirlpool WHES44 which replaced a 25 year old Hellenbrand Water Mate-1-32M water conditioner. The installation was easy after we prepared a concrete leveled pad to hold the softener. The digital read-out was also easy to follow after we printed out the installation guide. disappointed in shorter life.

Purchased in 2017, disappointed that something gave and I had beads in my water system. All faucets, toilets and refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher lines needed to be cleared at their respective screens. Maybe the system needs a filter built-in to catch the beads on catastrophic failure. I may consider adding a filter to my water line after this fiasco.

Check for damage before leaving the store.

Easy to hook up once plumbing was in place.. The only complaint is that the first one we got was damaged and we had to get a refund and start again. The second one was fine, but the price had gone up $20.
