Ratings & Reviews for Whirlpool 44000 -Grain Water Softener For Hard Water and Iron Reduction

Big defect in whirlpool Water Softeners

My unit is under cover but outside in Florida. Bought one 8 years ago, went bad because cover blew up in wind, I taped it down but dirt had gotten in, wrecked it. Bought new one in late February 2026, didn't tape the cover down and same thing happened, dirt in it and not working.

Prevents less lime scale in shower windows

We are really happy with this water softener - almost immediately seeing less scale on shower windows!

Whirlpool water softener

Great product. Easy installation

Very easy install if replacing from a Sears Kenmor

Purchased this to replace our 10 year old Kenmore softener. Whirlpool made the Kenmore softener for Sears, all other plumbing fittings were the same, water hook up was very easy, the valve from the supply lines was identical to the Whirlpool, didn’t even have to shut off the water- just left the valve in by-pass and pushed the valve onto the new softener and pushed in the retaining clips. No water anywhere.. hooked up the overflow & discharge lines, added water and salt per instructions. Super...

Fantastic item. Very heavy when full. Works gres

water softner

they shut my item FedEx and it was damaged. I had to go to the store because they said no returns unless I brought it back myself. I explained to them I had a reason for having delivered I don't have a truck. they said okay, we will come pick it up but we can't bring you a new one. this makes no sense they can pick it up but they can't bring a new one. they told me it's going to have to be shipped FedEx. by the way FedEx is the one that damaged it. do better Lowe's!

Great softner good price.

Good price easy to install and operate. Did not like that the hook up changed from older whirlpool softener that i bought 10 years ago made it so plumbing had to be redone.

Check the box before you bring it home

The first one I purchased was destroyed in the box. The replacement showed up and the light inside the tank doesn’t work. Other than that, it does what it is supposed to.

Fantastic water softener better than than big name

I bought this same softener 12 years ago, solid unit, we used it up with a very busy house I bought the Exact same unit again this past week to replace, it’s nice to see consistency, I dropped it right in place!!

Reliable product

Works great, easy to install, good price

By the same size bypass.

I like that the softeners are pretty close to the same size and are easily installed even if you're not a plumber.

Uses less salt than old one.

Good replacement to our old one. Old one was 12yrs old

Nice compact size so it won't take up much space.

Buying the water softener was easy although I did not get my Military Discount, which I thought was a little annoying. Getting a plumber lined up at a reasonable price was a little more difficult. All in all, I'm pleased.

Easy install. Works great.

No more water spots on dishes or shower walls. Exactly what I needed for all the new appliances.

BOUGHT 2 WEEKS AGO. OLD KENMORE DIED. BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY. WORKING WELL ALREADY.
