What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this paint scraper for exceptional performance removing multiple paint layers, glue, and old finishes with minimal effort. The carbide blade stays sharp far longer than standard steel, reducing replacements and enabling clean, precise scraping without gouging. Reviewers highlight its effectiveness on wood siding, molding, windows, and metal, often outperforming sanding. The ergonomic handle with knob allows comfortable, controlled force, while the double-sided replaceable blade accesses tight spaces efficiently. Some note the end cap loosens occasionally, and a few mention blade chipping on nails requires careful use. Overall, most consider it an exceptional tool that justifies its investment.

Disappointed

Would Not Recommend

This scraper did not work for me. The 2 screws that are supposed to keep the blade in place get loose over time -- which allows the blade to become wobbly. The scraper I bought at a yard sale for $1 worked as good if not better than this one. Would not recommend.

Best for use with as wide or wider surfaces

Would Recommend

The blade is ok on sharpness. It is easy to handle on surfaces as wide or wider than the scrapper itself. I wouldn’t recommend if the surface is not as wide such as hardwood floorboards or window frames with multiple widths.

This is a wonderful tool! On the job I used it for

Would Recommend

Fit my hand perfect, the knob on top took the pressure off my wrist, the blade shaved the paint off evenly on the board, left the board as if it were new

Scraper

Overall, the scraper works good. The blade that came with the scraper broke with the first use, so that was disappointing. The replacement blades are expensive, but this one hasn’t broke yet. The piece of metal that holds the blade in place isn’t strong enough. Two screws to hold it on would fix that issue or the metal piece could be thicker.

Great scraper for pre-painting surface prep

Would Recommend

This scraper, with carbide blade, works to clean up rough, peeling, cracked paint from flat surfaces far better than cheap scrapers with stamped metal "blades". Comfortable grip along with good place up front to lean your second hand against to help apply pressure. Be careful to avoid scaping over nail heads or screws as this can chip the hard but brittle blade. Also - buy a couple of extra blades to keep as spares. Highly recommended.

Silicon Carbide Awesomeness!!!

Would Recommend

Ever want to scrape the heck out of something? Then this is your tool! Warner's paint scraper is for more than just paint. Kinda weird that it's called a paint scraper when it can be used for so much more. It will remove any kind of finish with its razor-sharp carbide blade. I bought mine specifically for hardwood floor scraping - works like a charm on old urethane finished oak flooring. It will also scrape wood like a cabinet scraper too. Just be carfull not to hit nails screws, etc.. C...

Prepping {eaves and balcony) for painting

The Warner Steel Paint Scraper tool was a little pricey, but after using it, I think it was worth it. The comfortable handle and sharp blade made it easy to scrape off old paint and rotting wood.

Worth it

Would Recommend

This scraper took no time at all to strip the remaining paint off of my stair risers that I have been struggling with for months. The house is 105 years old and had 3 or 4 layers of paint over the shellac'd pine. I'd removed much with a putty knife and sandpaper, but there was still a whitewashed appearance. I hit a few hidden nails and the blade somehow survived. I did buy a spare just in case. I don't know why though...it seems like everyone else steals them from the packaging. That cap on t...
