Didn’t work for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bad switch. The installation was not difficult it took about 10 minutes. That includes switching wires because the instructions were difficult to read. It had power to it but it would not work tried everything. 😕

Great product

Maybe I got a dud, but it doesn't work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure if I got a dud or maybe I have installed it wrong, but even after switching line and load wires around several times, the on/off button doesn't work (it is always on) and the screen never loaded despite waiting several minutes.

DOA

Bought two of these and wired them up per the instructions and both were dead out of the box. Wired in a different brand the exact same way and it worked.

Fantastic but takes time to start working!

It works brilliantly, but it took about 10 minutes to “charge up” and turn on once wired. The instructions say to wait 1 minute, so I thought I messed up the wiring.

Sleek design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This would be great to use but I’m not an electrician. The design is nice and the digital buttons are easy to see. The directions for installation is very small and confusing. Again if I was an electrician, I think it would be great!

Utilitech lighting timer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does its intended purpose. Rarely are we home at dusk to turn the outside lights on. This switch has been a great addition to the house. We can manually override the timer by simply clicking the on/off button without messing with the programming.

Would love this, but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We always forget to turn off our front lights, so this timer is perfect for us! Unfortunately, my husband, who has done a lot of electrical wiring and his friend who is an electrician, couldn't get this timer to work. The installation was easy. The switch got power, the outside lights turn on and off, but the timer itself stays blank. The screen never appears to program.

Wish I could have tried it.

I didn't know I would have to install it into the light switch, which I can't do because I live in a rental unit and I can't replace anything it in my lease.

He has no problems setting it up and he is not savvy with that stuff. He is talking off installing in our home. I totally recommend.

Great Timer!

Wall Light switch timer, no plug in

Easier than I thought to install

Seems durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just completed the install of this SunSmart 7-Day In-Wall Digital Timer by Utilitech. I like the way it looks. I am not an electrician, but the installation was pretty straightforward. It took me a while to program it though. I like that it has a battery backup, so I don’t have to reprogram it it there’s an electrical outage. It seems well made, so hopefully it will last a long time.

Buy a switch plate before installing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There was some difficulty and that could have had to do with the electrical that was installed in our house. We did get it set up but we had to buy a switch plate before installation. Programming was pretty simple with some accuracy.. Great concept for the home. Average durability.

Easy to install and use
