Would RecommendTrex is great, overall. I've built a couple of decks before, so I knew the basics. The literature explains all the installation details. To install it with invisible fasteners, it is a bit fiddly, Plus you'll need a router to cut slots on the starter board and the last board of your deck. I had all that, but just letting people know. I only gave it 3 stars because Lowes took many, many months to deliver my boards. I wanted a color that wasn't available at the store.

Would RecommendI ended up going with Trex deck boards when the price of lumber was about as expensive as composite. In the end, I'm glad I went with composite so as to save me from the constant staining and maintenance that the later years would require. I have a ton of pine trees over my deck and I find the pine needs don't stain the duckboards like they used to on regular wood deck boards. Would RecommendI installed Trex deck boards (beach dune) on my 200 square foot deck, and I love the way it looks, and its so easy to clean with just a hose. My old deck is only a few inches off the ground and was still very solid, but the wood surface was so weather beaten after 30+ years, so I painted the old wood with 2 coats of the very thick Cabot Deck Correct to seal it thoroughly, and then applied the Trex boards right over top of the old deck lumber.
