Would RecommendI ended up going with Trex deck boards when the price of lumber was about as expensive as composite. In the end, I'm glad I went with composite so as to save me from the constant staining and maintenance that the later years would require. I have a ton of pine trees over my deck and I find the pine needs don't stain the duckboards like they used to on regular wood deck boards. Trex Decking - So Much Nicer Than Treated Wood
Would RecommendI installed Trex deck boards (beach dune) on my 200 square foot deck, and I love the way it looks, and its so easy to clean with just a hose. My old deck is only a few inches off the ground and was still very solid, but the wood surface was so weather beaten after 30+ years, so I painted the old wood with 2 coats of the very thick Cabot Deck Correct to seal it thoroughly, and then applied the Trex boards right over top of the old deck lumber. Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This looks like a good improvement over earlier generations of Trex. The color coating is quite deep, and if scratched, holds its color well. The texture looks more like wood grain than some older Trex I have installed on my deck stairs, so this will be less slick when wet. This very solid, and I am hopeful that it will have outstanding durability.
