Ratings & Reviews for Trex 4-in x 4-in Charcoal Black Composite Deck post base trim
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these post sleeves for creating a clean, professional, finished appearance that hides unsightly gaps and seamlessly complements deck aesthetics. Most highlight ease of installation and excellent color matching as key strengths, with the snap-together design earning consistent praise for convenience. However, some express frustration over dimensional confusion—the sleeves fit 4.5-inch posts, not standard 4-inch posts—causing installation issues. A few note concerns about plastic construction and durability, mentioning brittleness and potential scratching. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the product worthwhile for dramatically upgrading their deck's visual appeal.

Would Not RecommendThis product was too big. I have a standard 4x4 post (actual measurement 3.5 x 3.5") with a white vinyl slip cover over it. I have no idea how this was measured, but it is way too big to fit around a covered 4 x 4 post. I do not how to find one that fits, except to measure what you have and then measure the trim.p to insure it fits correctly.

Fits Well
Would RecommendI was worried a bit about the look of the seam because they are 2 pieces. But, they fit together well. I suppose it makes it so they could be used on an existing post.
