Ratings & Reviews for Trex 4-in x 4-in Charcoal Black Composite Deck post base trim

What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these post sleeves for creating a clean, professional, finished appearance that hides unsightly gaps and seamlessly complements deck aesthetics. Most highlight ease of installation and excellent color matching as key strengths, with the snap-together design earning consistent praise for convenience. However, some express frustration over dimensional confusion—the sleeves fit 4.5-inch posts, not standard 4-inch posts—causing installation issues. A few note concerns about plastic construction and durability, mentioning brittleness and potential scratching. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the product worthwhile for dramatically upgrading their deck's visual appeal.

I'm returning them
Would Not RecommendI just bought 8 of them to go around 4x4 sleeves. They are way too big and would look sloppy.

Look at Reviews before ordering
Would Not RecommendProduct clearly states they slide over the sleeves but they DO NOT. They come in two pieces that snap together. I was looking for the ones that are one piece so the description was not what was actually received. Lowes needs to update their description of this product

Miss leading description and images
Would Not RecommendDescription states slides over post and pictures show one piece, it doesn't state or show an image that its a two piece product. It came in 2 pieces that snap together and leave unsightly seams even customer service at the store stated it should be one piece that slides over the post. I had this item delivered but now i have to return it to the store to get my money back.

The only bad thing was that I received two notices that this order was ready for pickup when it wasn't received by the Lowe's store! I made a trio into Lowe's for nothing!
