Ratings & Reviews for Trex 6-in x 6-in Classic White Composite Deck post base trim

What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this deck post trim for its professional, polished appearance and seamless integration with composite systems. Most highlight how it hides the post-to-decking junction, creating an upscale look that makes decks feel complete. The snap-together two-piece design earns strong approval for easy installation, even after railings are in place. However, some report sizing confusion, noting the product doesn't fit standard 4x4 posts as advertised. A few mention visible seams where pieces connect or describe the material as feeling less premium than expected. Despite these concerns, most customers find it a worthwhile finishing touch.

Would RecommendI bought a 4X4X48 Trex composite deck post. Inside the damaged packaging of the item, that had obviously previously been returned, was a 4X4X38 Trex composite deck post. Before Lowes resells returned items to other customers I expect the contents to be reinspected so as not to waste my time on returns. I previously pointed out damage of the same item in-store to employees. This was an online purchase. Unacceptable.

Very good
Would RecommendI liked the white composite deck post sleeve for its crisp, polished appearance that instantly upgrades a deck’s look. It’s designed to protect and cover structural posts, resisting rot, insects, and weather damage. The low-maintenance composite material stays bright over time, and installation is simple, creating a seamless, professional finish that complements various railing styles.

Measure with care
Would Not RecommendThis product was too big. I have a standard 4x4 post (actual measurement 3.5 x 3.5") with a white vinyl slip cover over it. I have no idea how this was measured, but it is way too big to fit around a covered 4 x 4 post. I do not how to find one that fits, except to measure what you have and then measure the trim.p to insure it fits correctly.

Color does not match
Would RecommendThese were easy to install. One problem, these are a lighter brown than my older trex railing. I had to paint them to match

Fits Well
Would RecommendI was worried a bit about the look of the seam because they are 2 pieces. But, they fit together well. I suppose it makes it so they could be used on an existing post.
