Very difficult to put together. Instructions inadequate. Terribly overpriced. Not up to Lowes standards.

There are better options

I purchased this. I brought it home and it was relatively easy to assemble (you need a rubber mallet). The box itself is fine. The lid and the piston (or should I say spring) would not hold up. It comes we several pieces of metal that need to be screwed into the lid. However the lid is plastic there is nothing internal to the lid for the screw to screw into. It's just a plastic box

Not worth the price at all. During assembly the lid flew open a couple times and completely ripped the hinges away from the plastic lid. Had to use different holes to secure the lid to the hinges. Not really even secure the lid, just self tapping screws into plastic. Don't over tighten or that hole will be useless. Find something different to use to store items.

Good Midsized Storage

I first I bought the 20-something gallon Suncast, but there just wasn't enough storage for my needs. I bought the 60 gallon one and it's a little bit too big, but that's better to err on the side of too much. The larger one can hold 300 lb, but it's a little bit too high to make a good seat. If you're looking for a seat and a little bit of storage I would buy the smaller one. If storage is more important than I would buy the larger one. Lid broke off immediately

The screws in the plastic attaching the lid was so flimsy, they ripped out the first time we opened the lid.

Hinge system is very bad. Screws didn’t hold into the plastic. I have to use the lid without a hinge lift.

Good assemby experience

My wife and I just purchased this deck box. We took the advice of other reviews and followed the assembly instructions carefully, especially making sure we used the right holes for the lifter/fastener bolts in the hinge. All went extremely well. The box assembled just fine. A few tips. You definitely need a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer -- do not use a hammer to pound things together. Assembly not easy - IMPOSSIBLE!!!

I have put together many projects in the past without major issues. This "easy to assemble" box was almost impossible to follow instructions. The parts were sub standard, especially the self-threading screws. I never could get the self-opening parts to work - left them off :-( For $129 this product from Lowes is totally unacceptable.

I bought two of these to house deck cushions and have used Suncast before with good results. In this case I was frustrated with the instructions and began assembly not realizing that the box was packed with TWO FRONT pieces and not a Front and Back as it should have had. So after spending quite some time I realized that it could not be assembled. Lid broke while assembling

While assembling the lid, the lid swung all the way open, making 10+ screws bust free from the plastic molding, where they’d previously been screwed in. Now the lid just sits on top of the container, and is not water proof.

Piece of Junk

Terribly over complicated instructions that were written by a technical writer with poor mechanical skills. Very cheap plastic with screws that ripped out before project was even complete. Absolute garbage product. Buy something else. Lowe’s should be ashamed for carrying this piece of junk.

Exactly what I needed...

My husband did a great job building the box until he got to the lid. He got totally frustrated with the instruction. After a little assistance, we were able to finish and it turned out perfectly. It took a little longer than it should have but I love the final result. I'm using it indoors to store a large number of blankets and pillows.

I love the size and quality of this Deck Box. It was fairly easy to put together until you get to the lid. My husband really struggled. Thankfully, I read the other reviews about attaching the hinges to the lid first. Once this was done, the rest of it came together pretty easily. Overall, I recommend.

Such a hassle to assemble

The outer portion of this box was easy to assemble. The hardware, not so much. First NO INSTRUCTIONS come in the package. Second all the holes don’t line up or there are none pre-drilled. And we were shorted one nut. The only reason we didn’t take it back is because it took so long to put together we weren’t about to take it apart. I will say two positives. Difficult Assembly

Parts do not line up very well. Difficult to screw into plastic at an angle. Two nuts were missing which nessitated another trip to the store. Overall it took over two hours to assemble when it should have been a 30 minute job. Looks good if you can finish it though.

Garbage

I cannot believe what a piece of garbage this product is. I'm actually shocked that so many folks gave this item 5 stars and good reviews. We bought this a week ago and still haven't been able to completely assemble it. We keep putting it aside for another day whenever we hit another wall. Pieces that should fit together don't, instructions are terrible, one side is bent. It's just horrible. Save your money!!!!
