Would RecommendI have three Kobalt tools that use 40v batteries, including a weed trimmer, They are all good tools. After rotator cuff surgery, the Kobalt weed eater is just too heavy for me, but my wife still likes it. This Skil trimmer has 40v power at the lightest weight for its power that I could find. Plus, it uses heavier 0.08 line. It has excellent run time and goes full speed until it needs recharge, One of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time.
Battery will not hold a charge & price
Would RecommendThe battery-operated string trimmer works very well, surprisingly equally well as my previous gas-powered trimmer, plus lighter weight and quieter. Purchased this item on 6/23/24 for $151.05 with my Lowes Business Card. Used it 5 times, unfortunately, now it will not hold a charge for more than 15 minutes. Additionally, now is see that this item (2412714) is going for $119.00. I would suggest when purchasing this item check the reviews and pricing.
Battery Died- NO WARRANTY
Would Not RecommendBattery died after a few uses, less than three months. Lowes would not stand behind the product,

Lightweight
It is lighter than many other models. I trimmed the whole yard and only used 1/4 of the battery power.

Love it, works great, but ...
Would RecommendWorks great, not heavy. Really like it. Except, far as I understand there is no place for local warranty. If I needed warranty I would need to ship it at my cost to a place in Quebec which is about 600 0r 700 km away. It would cost me way to much as a consumer. So basically I have no warranty. It looks well made and fingers crossed I never need warranty. I'm in NB Canada and somewhere local is needed.

Old Man's review
Would RecommendWhen it works, it is very good, Battery and run time is excellent for my 7K sq ft yard perimeter and around many trees. Easy to hold and control cutting path. Only issues are with trimmer line -sometimes it loads easy as described; other times not so. Some issues are only having one side of spool line , or it stopped feeding line with the bump head - had to remove line and reload. But overall a good string trimmer for the price.
