Would RecommendI had two thick logs from my Mango Tree that I cut down. I used this chainsaw to cut them into 16 inch logs. It took me no time to do the job. Just pull toward you from the top of the wood. Then stop and do it again. Don't push. Use the saw right, or don't blame the saw if you don't

battery dies after quickly but charge quickly too
Would Not Recommendwhile the battery charge quickly it doesn't seem to last long while cutting. You could buy another battery but at $130 you could put a few more dollars and get another chainsaw. Cuts good about 10-20max cuts, per charge, on small to medium size logs. Which is good if dropping trees that size but not cutting fire wood. The rate that the battery dies makes it nearly impossible to work out away from power source such as your home or a generator. If you going to use a generator just go with a gas c...

No very happy
Bought about a year ago and haven’t used it until yesterday. Battery was fully charged and every time I started cutting the saw would shut off after about 10 or 15 seconds. I would have to key the trigger a few times to get it to cut for 10 more seconds

Needs a stronger battery
Saw worked great with a 5 amp battery. It did not work well with the battery it cam with (2.5 amp). It was very much underpowered with that battery.

Very impressive power and quick cut
Would RecommendI’ve only done one session cutting logs into lengths for fire wood but I am very impressed with the power of this saw. Cuts through oak logs almost as wide as the bar very quickly. I won’t be using this saw to cut cords of fire wood - that will be with my gas powered Husky with and 18” bar - but this Skil chainsaw is a great alternate when you just wanna cut some logs for the weekend or an occasional fire pit on the patio.
