Improved from older model
I like that they have now made the lid and closing rod attachments from metal. That is what broke on our first trash bin. Nothing's perfect but these are very good.

Very nice can, will last
Very nice can, will last for years as the plastic lid has been replaced with this metal lid and metal connectors that will not break, an issue that was the reason for having to replace our can. I must say though, I do prefer the look of the original black butterfly lid.

Amazing Trash Can
Absolutely love the design, size and soft closure. The trash bags are also sturdy and fits perfectly so it’s hidden upon closure. I highly recommend this purchase.

It’s a thing of beauty and quality. My only wish is that it was more narrow. Even though I measured it’s big. My solution- I moved it to a different space in the kitchen that makes even better sense for my layout. Now to change my habits and routine in the kitchen.

the only reason it did not get a 5 is its hard to use cheaper liners, but not impossible. otherwise, very nice, looks great and is a wonderful size.

Butterfly opening is perfect
This is the perfect solution when u want to put the trash can under a counter and there isn’t enough room for the regular top to open. Couldn’t be better.

It is not the same quality as the 38L Butterfly Can I owned before. Disappointed!
We owned the biggest mac-daddy Butterfly Can a few years ago - the 38L. It was gorgeous, functional, heavy duty, and it worked for years. Eventually, the "slow close" mechanism gave way. Now, several years later, I purchased another SimpleHuman can. This was about 2 mos. ago; we were redecorating. I went for the 30L model which fits its space perfectly. Sadly, this can seems too lightweight, impossible to keep open while cooking, and the pedal seems cheap and sticks. Disappointing, overall. Simp...

Cute and quiet
replaces a larger can that lasted for years. This one is just for compost so smaller size is perfect. And quiet close still works (our other one broke but only after about seven years).
