Perfect fit!
We love the butterfly opening, and this particular size. We also have a hunting dog with a great nose and she is not able to knock it over or open it up!

Nice improvement
Since this replaced the same model I had enjoyed for a few years, I see that the mechanism that broke on my first can has been replaced by a much sturdier system. In an age when most new things are more cheaply made than what they replace, this is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality. Good for them!

Great for our space
We had trouble getting a trash can that wouldn’t hit the counter top when opened. This fits the bill. The only drawback is the method of keeping the lids opened when cooking and using it often. We’ll try putting some oil on the hinges to have them glide better. Otherwise it’s good.

Why did I wait so long?
After trying two cheaper brands of stainless steel cans, I finally took my daughter's advice and bought this SimpleHuman can. Expensive, yes, but it's of outstanding build quality and works perfectly for my kitchen location. The butterfly top is SO much better for my location than long lids hinged at the end. I wish I had bought this one long ago!

This is our second 30L butterfly step can. We still use our first one from 13 years ago. Great quality that is meant last. Highly recommend this trash can!
