Would Not RecommendDO NOT buy a Sharp Microwave drawer! After regular use for a little over a year (outside of manufacturer warranty period), my microwave started sparking on the issue when using the melt butter mode only. Sharp admitted it was unrepairable and offered me a few hundred dollars off a new model. The expensive of $3k in microwaves in 2 years is absurd. Would not purchase again and Sharp does NOT stand by their customers.

Would Not RecommendLike many others, it was installed in a custom kitchen island. Looks are appealing. 950 watts is a bit under powered, but that is not a negative as the power is clearly stated. The "hand wave" feature is a joke; has never worked. We have replaced the control panel once and the magnetron once. Now the new panel has stopped responding. Piece of junk. And we are stuck purchasing another Sharp due to size dimensions as we are not calling a contractor to rework the island....

Control Panel Easy to Ruin
Would Not RecommendWe have used our Sharp microwave drawer for less than 2 years and the control panel has quit working. I don't understand why Sharp would make something for a KITCHEN that is so vulnerable to a small amount for water from being wiped with a sponge. A very small amount of water must have seeped into the bottom of the panel after being wiped clean (and dried with a towel), because it quit responding after that. Follow-up to review I posted on August 24, 2023: To give credit where credit is due, Sharp did reach out to me after the previous review was posted. They offered to repair the unit and sent out a technician with the necessary parts. It has been just over a week since the repair, and it continues to operate as it did before it broke down. Thank you, Sharp, for standing behind your product. However, I do wish it would have happened before I posted the 8/24 review.

Avoid!
Would Not RecommendInstalled into a large kitchen island. Broke in these 3 months of owning - would not heat anything. Now just past my 1 year warranty, the unit won't power on at all. Could be control unit, fuse or panel. Who knows. Worthless $1500 hunk of junk.

Would RecommendLikes: Looks great, cooks/heats food very well, easy to clean, quiet and the drawer feature works great. Dislikes: To access the control panel, you have to push in the same exact spot every time and you have to push pretty hard for it to open and close.
