Won't turn off

Bought this early 2021, just a few nights ago it would turn on and off by itself. The following morning it was on, that's scary and an electrical hazard.. Now it only stays on and the buttons don't work. I have to unplug it for obvious reasons and this horrible microwave should be removed for safety purposes.

Do Not Buy

Purchased 11/21, had to replace today 9/23. It would start and stop all by itself, scary! After reading many reviews last night with the same problem. Shocked the Lowes still sells it. Stay Away.

Fire hazard

I have owned tro of these. The first one started cutting on and off for no reason. I managed to return it and made the unfortunate decision to swap it for a new one. Now after two years it's doing the same thing. Somebody needs to file a class action lawsuit for Sharp knowingly selling a defective product that's a fire hazard. I will never buy anything made by Sharp again

Great powerful microwave

I purchased this unit to replace a similar Sharp microwave I got in 1995. It lasted 28 years and would have continued working but the plastic door latching mechanism broke. This new model has a much simpler door latch so maybe it will last longer. The only disappointing thing is that the online spec sheet said it had a silent mode so you didn't have to listen to the annoying beeping at the end. It doesn't seem to be the case.

I have had this microwave for over a year now. In the last couple weeks it started turning on & off by itself occasionally, but it was working. In the last couple days it got worse, and now I have to unplug it to feel safe. I called the SHARP phone number given on the responses to some of the complains. It was really good for 2 years but then no bueno.

We bought this microwave in 2021. It's been a good one and did work exactly as expected. But as everyone else has said, it has started to turn on by itself. Click on and off. Luckily we were at home when this problem started and unplugged it. It could have been worse.

This Microwave turns on by itself

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who purchased this microwave and have it randomly turn on by itself. I was on my way to purchase it again, thinking I just had a faulty one. Now that I see other consumers having the same issue I will choose a different brand microwave. The only way to turn this one off is to unplug it and now it wont even warm up or cook. Even though it's inexpensive, this was a waste of money. Only had the microwave for approximately 2 years.
