Problem #1 is that the microwave suddenly started turning on by itself after a few years of normal, uneventful use. I came out to the kitchen one more and it was running--there's no heating, thankfully, but the light and fan turn on and the turntable spins. Just what we needed

I was looking for a recognized brand with a good track record. This was my one met my requirements. The added benefit is that it is very easy to use.

Possessed

The microwave is turning on by itself and cannot be shut off without unplugging it. None of the buttons respond while it is running on its own. Additionally, it will not heat. The microwave only lasted for a year and a half.

Efficient

After reading many microwave reviews, we bought this unit because it nicely fit into the cubby space with room to vent. It is easy to operate, runs quiet enough and seems to heat efficiently. My only con is that it opens and closes with a clunky feel. Nice looking as well.

Faulty Product

I'm not sure how this microwave retains almost 4 out of 5 stars after all of the same, poor reviews. Most of the negative reviews are about this malfunctioning microwave turning on and off by itself and that triggers the microwave to not work at all anymore after a few years. Sharp will let you submit a case and then offer you the same faulty microwave at a "pro-rated" rate of $127. Why would I pay more for a microwave, that's $100 at Lowe's? Sadly its junk

Got this as a gift, my last Sharp was great and lasted a long time. Hard to find one small enough to fit the space I have. But started turning on all by it's self like many other reviewers mentioned. Sharp don't bother replying you obviously don't care as long as it lasts a year but you might consider two things. Who is going to want to buy a product that is consistently dying after a year, you are ruining your brand name with this. Two you better hope this defect doesn't cause fires or ...
