Great space saver

I've had this microwave drawer for 6 years. At 3 years I had the magnetron replaced when it stopped working. It cost me $120 as I pulled the microwave out myself and took it to a local repair shop vs paying for the expensive service call. It's heavy but doable if you're determined and want to save some $ and know a little bit about what the problem might be. Have your magnetron checked if it starts buzzing or smelling of plastic, it may be able to be repaired instead of replaced! They also repl...

Very Dangerous

After 4 months ours began to smoke when starting it. REALLY began smoking. Shut it off and flipped the circuit breaker. Dealer wanted nothing to do with it and Sharp put us through the wringer to honor the warranty. After 4 weeks we are still waiting for the replacement to arrive. If you value your home don't buy one of these.

Good, but has faults.

This is our second one unit, as our last home had just been redone and it was already installed. We had no issues with the first unit at our old home. However, in our next (current) home we redid the kitchen and since we liked it so much with our old home decided to get another. However, after a few months of it being installed it starting randomly buzzing/popping when turned on and it quickly dissipated... until... about 10 months after purchase the same noises started up but so did a small ...

Great Design/Poor Product

Great space saving design. Have had for two years and it is making a low humming noise and smelling like an electrical fire. Obviously I am not using it. Also I am stuck with buying a new one as there is a hole in my two year old cabinetry just for the microwave. The warranty is one year with a longer time on the magnetron. The magnetron warranty does not include labor though so one may as well replace the unit! I guess an expensive extended warranty would be worth it in this case!!

Living without microwave oven

It was strongly recommended by the builder so we got this. It lasted about 10 years and died; we are now stuck with replacing it with the same brand as nothing else decent fit in the slot in the island. Would not recommend to anybody.

BEWARE - FIRE HAZARD

We've had this microwave for about 3 years and it has recently started buzzing and smoking randomly. It will make the lights flicker in the kitchen and smoke will roll out of the top of it. This thing is a fire hazard. Upon doing more research it seems this is a known issue by Sharp and it probably needs recalled. Avoid this thing before it burns down your kitchen. Do you're research before buying.

Sharp microwave drawer

Love this microwave. It is very easy to prepare foods in and clean. I have had mine for at least 5 years and never had a problem with it.

Lasted 2 years

Replaced fuse on front panel and it died again after one year. This microwave has definite design fault issues. Piece of junk.

went dead

Got this microwave three years ago when it was only $650.00, I love it; but it went dead on me. called sharp but they could not solve the problem. I will have to buy the same one to fit the same space in my cabinet.

Great while it works

It was working great for over 4 years. Until it stopped. Paid $100 to just replace the fuze. Worked another month and died again. Now our options are - pay $$$ to fix it without any guarantee it will die again. Buy a new one or buy a cheaper replacement. The problem with the last one is that SHarp has smallest opening dimensions which cannot be changed. So now we stuck with nice but broken Sharp. Think twice before buying an expensive drawer style microwave

This microwave is wonderful, cleans easy, looks great, and works great but only lasted 3 years and then stopped working. I just bought my second one, hopefully will last longer!

Love it!!!

I absolutely love our microwave drawer. It's so handy being low, easy to clean, put things into and take out. Surprised me how easy it is to use and how big it is inside. Love it!!!!

We have had this in our kitchen for about 6 years and not one problem. It is so easy to open and stir. It's out of site and easy to clean. Everyone who sees it says they wish they had one.
