Recent remodel where I did not want the microwave over the gas stove for several reasons: 1-I’m short, it would be a stretch 2-I’m getting older, and I didn’t want my clothing to catch fire from a flame on the cook stove, while reaching for the microwave 3- it’s easier to check for melting/heat distribution 4-so much easier to clean 5-love the sleek lines, towel bar handle, clean look

Can cause fire

I purchased this very expensive microwave to put in my dream kitchen. Everyone loved it but during the warranty period that is covered by sharp burnt out which can cause fire in your home. I searched high and low to find a technician that work on this microwave as sharp insist on not replacing my microwave to no avail. Even the technician that sharp gave me told me no. I finally found one 2 hrs away which told me I had to get someone to take the microwave out the cabinet and bring to their shop,...

Sharp Microwave

First time owning in drawer microwave. Like the size, but don’t like that the key board is not illuminated… cannot see very clearly without bright room lights turned on

Excellent drawer microwave. Been using it 9 months and works well. My family has the same one and has been great for years.

Solid Value, but less power than before

Item works well, but is less powerful than prior Sharp model I wishes to replace. It takes longer to heat

Very good machine, but buttons should be back-lit

I like everything about this machine except the buttons should be back-lit, as it's impossible to use this microwave in the dark. And since it's a drawer unit, there isn't a whole lot of natural light where the buttons are positioned. Other than that, it has a lot of nice features, especially the sensor reheat which does an excellent job with just about everything I have tried it on.

Best Microwave on the Market

I brought a house in 2019 and the older model was in the house. I instantly fell in love with this microwave. The house was built in 2009 and when I sold the house in 2023 the microwave was still working perfectly. I built a new house and selected this model microwave and it has been like a dream.

Fire Hazard

I installed this unit in my new home December 2017. Have had to replace door switches and magnetron. Most recently the wave guide caught fire and could have easily burnt down my home. Lucky I was close to the unit and was able to intervene. I came to find out that is is an ongoing issue with sharp and that there is a class action settlement concerning the wave guide arcing. Unfortunately, Sharp has decided to only replace the units with this obvious latent defect within 5 years of purchase....
