For a Few Cuts, Maybe

I hate this tool. It is virtually impossible to get a straight cut, which becomes more and more difficult as pipe size gets smaller. I have spent more time shaving the ends of my cut pipes than actually putting pipe together. If you are doing a small project with a few cuts, maybe this will be OK for you. If you plan to use it regularly, get something more accurate and substantial.

Cuts like a chainsaw through butter

Pex is usually hard to cut unless you have a specialized tool. This tool is the cheapest thing that will give you that easy straight cut with one or two rotations around the pipe.

Cuts the PEX

Very simple tool, basically a razor blade imbedded into a formed handle. Worked great on 3/4" PEX

Worked as advertised.

Bought this cutter as I needed to replace the original plastic shut off valve under my sink. The pex pipe was damaged removing the old shut off valve, and I needed to cut the pex pipe back a bit for the new fitting to seal properly (tried with out cutting first and ended up with a slow leak). The cutter worked as advertised and it’s size was perfect for getting behind the garbage disposal where the shut off was located. Make sure to follow the instructions and the tool will work.

Worthless

I bought this to help on a project without success. Ended up just spiraling up the pipe. Used a sawzall to cut it with better success and using a debur tool. Would suggest getting the more expensive plier handle types!

Pex cutter versus utility knife

Cuts Pex but somewhat difficult to use in tight spaces as you have to spin the cutter to get it to work. Might have been able to do the job with a good utility knife

Conviene and Safe to use

I originally wanted this pipe cutter as I felt it would be 10x better than a box cutter for cutting Pex. However though it is simple and easy of use, a box cutter works almost as well. For the price, quailty, and easy of use, I would recommend this Pex cutter for new DIYers or females doing home renovations.

Spend the Extra Money on the Better One

I really disliked this cutter. It would not cut completely around the Pex and would create pig's tails. I would then need to use a utility knife cutting and trimming. Trust me, spend the extra money on higher end Pex cutter that slices from the top down. It will save you time, Pex, and a headache.

Does what it’s intended to do

I was kind of skeptical in purchasing this tool from reading other shoppers reviews. Used it for a small plumbing job in the bathroom. Cut perfectly around the water lines provided a clean even cut.

Junk

This tool is junk, always cuts in spirals (yes, I'm following directions). don't waste your time with it.

Wouldn't give a straight, even cut for me

This didn't work for me. Didn't make a clean cut. I went back to using, what do you call them, the kind that you spin around the pipe. Those give me the cleanest, most even cut. Maybe there's a trick to using this right, I'll probably tinker with it.
