the post worked well. the only issue was, i was disappointed that i had to go to 3 lowes locations around my area to find one that didn't have large splits in the wood. one of the locations only had one post and it looked awful.

Would RecommendStain/seal your post color of your liking. Dig a hole, put some cement and gravel in the hole with your post. Buy a new mailbox and lettering. Will never go anywhere.
