Would RecommendThe post is made well for a mailbox post. For the price I would not make one on my own. I would like to see the post be about a foot longer. My soil elevation is below the road surface because of the ditch. I think they assume the the soil will be a curb height above the road surface. So my post is only about a foot in the ground.

It is preassembled.
There is not much I like about this product. What I like is it serves the purpose of holding up my mailbox. What I don't like is it is expensive and poorly machined and assembled. The overlapping joints are loose, not well aligned and the 45-degree support is not placed and secured in proper position. It comes complete with burrs from nail guns and saw blades. In closing a lot of caulk, little sanding, a coat of primer and paint it will hopefully serve its purpose for a number of years.
