Ratings & Reviews for Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn 2 -Pack 12-lb Mixture/Blend Grass Seed

Helped thicken my lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this product. It was easy to apply, I used my hand held spreader. It helped my lawn to thicken up in some bald spots. But, I’m not gonna lie I was hoping it would improve my lawn quality a bit more. I’m still fighting odd weeds etc.

Not worth it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had an old burn pit in a spot of our backyard that burnt a lot of the grass. We had sparse coverage as you can see in the photos included. We used our Scott’s spreader on the setting, suggested on the package. It was easy to distribute just like grass seed. We covered it with some dried grass to help protect it from the sun since we’ve been having a lot of heat waves. The grass barely grew, even though we watered it per the instructions. I i...

Lawn Seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scott’s Turf Builder Thicker Lawn Seed has a 3 in one formula to fill bare patches, which is what I need! My yard has struggled this year and this seems to help.

Helpful but not cost friendly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was effective at helping grass grow in the bald spots of my yard. Instructions are simple to understand. Not a real quick process so dont go into it thinking such. The cost is a little high for a small bag.

Small improvement in lawn thickness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.] Scott's Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn was somewhat effective on my patchy grass. The prep was pretty easy- mow the grass short and use a rake to remove dead grass. I applied it with a manual spreader just as my irrigation was being turned on for the year. The grass looks a bit thicker overall, but it did not grow in where I applied it in cheap topsoil around a tree stump. I'm going to g...

Great all in one grass seed product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spread the grass seed on a bare spot in my yard in the early spring and couldn't be happier with the results. Fertilizer and seed all in one. The lawn is green and lush and looks great.

Getting there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grass seed was spread a few weeks ago and we are starting to see some minimal growth. Overall it had good consistency and spread nicely. I like the packaging, easy to open.

Small bag, big punch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We laid this seed about a week and a half ago and we are already getting some growth! This small bag was able to cover a ton of ground. We know Scott’s is the best when it comes to grass seed so we are super excited to send the end result.

Good seed option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I’m pretty darn happy with the performance of this grass seed. It definitely isn’t high maintenance and as long as you do water it, it starts to sprout up pretty quickly. It does a decent job at filling in the holes in your grass. I did have to fight birds from eating the seeds as you can kind of tell. Didn’t help I didn’t take up the previous mow so it killed some of the newer grass I had coming up, but I’ll just throw down a little mo...

Solid seeding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seed was easy to put down to help fill some bare spots in my lawn. I had to stay diligent with watering but that’s to be expected. My lawn already is starting to look more lush.

Effective and Quick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grass seed was easy to apply and worked relatively quickly to start growing. We now have most of the section covered in new grass with the help of the Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn. For a few of the patches that didn't full take, we'll be putting more seed down to fill in the spots. We are very happy with this product.

Great grower!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is growing in great. Pulled a bunch of shrubs last fall and used this to fill in what we put down early along and it all looks so blended and thick! It’s got a lot of fluff and after cuts looks so full and lush. It adapted to our dirt without any problems.

Great for my lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you for the free product for review Influenster! This bag was the perfect size for me to go through my yard and seed/etc the spots that get stepped on and worn down the most. I love that it isn't just grass seed but that it has things in it to help nourish it etc. I didn't notice any smells while I was applying it which was also nice for me. My yard is definitely a mix of sun and shade as well so this was really great for me. I would reco...

Simple to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before applying the product it is recommended to cut the lawns and rake to loosen the top layer of soil. As advised I used the product with a handheld Scott’s spreader on setting 5. Instructions for different Scott’s application devices are outlined on the back of the package. This product is very simple to use. Prep work includes mostly what would be done as routine lawn maintenance. Application process is simple. Biggest thing using this prod...

Thriving in our midwestern lawn!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been a great seed for our midwestern lawn. We have a downslope from our yard to our driveway that has been notoriously impossible to keep grass. We used this this year and we’re seeing really good results so far with most of the bare space filling in already!

Fills in bare patches quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received product free for honest review. I had many spots where skunks have dug for grubs and damaged grass. We used Scotts to cover each area and lawn quickly filled in where needed, leaving green lush and green. Seeded quickly. Great product. Recommend.

It works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mom was able to use this on our entire front lawn to regrow patches that had not survived the winter snow. She used gardening gloves and thankfully it is not so fine of a product that she had to worry about it blowing around, it has a good weight to the granules. The grass has since evened out and grown back and we can not tell where the partially dead patches even were. It revived what I would’ve have assumed was unrecoverable.

Everything in one bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag does it all. Fertilize, seed and improve your soil. We added this to our front lawn and within two weeks noticed greener lawn and some new growth. Quite the improvement! Will you put the whole bag in a spreader and it worked really well. With all these products being in one bag, it makes for easy maintenance and a good value.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d have to say I’m pretty impressed with Scott’s turf builder thick’R lawn sun and shade. I had a spot in my yard that my husband had his 4 wheeler parked for a long while and it cleared the grass. But after adding this product it’s all growing back and quickly. There’s still a few patches. But compared to what it looked like before, I’m happy with the results.

Effective 3 in 1 product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really easy to use!!! Application was a breeze, you can spread in a seeder but also can sprinkle by hand. I really love that it’s a 3 in 1 product that really allows me to eliminate having to buy multiple things. Spreads out evenly and watered nicely. Would recommend for thin sparse grass.
