Ratings & Reviews for Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn 2 -Pack 12-lb Mixture/Blend Grass Seed

Grass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted to use this product on our grass that is uneven and patchy. It has helped to grow thicker grass that is more evenly colored. This was very easy to spread and grow. Minimal maintenance and no heavy equipment required.

Adds thickness but not new growth on bald spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that this product did add thickness to the lawn, but doesn’t grow back bald spots. Works as good as our poor yard would allow. Easy to apply to lawn and growth blends nicely into existing yard.

🍃🍀🌱

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this to try to grow some nice green grass on our dirt filled lawn. We moved into our home last year and ever since then, have been working hard to get luscious green grass. So far, the new grass is growing in slowly but nicely! Slow and steady wins the race!

Excited for this one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super easy to follow instructions! It was very easy to place on the spots of my yard that could use some tlc. One bag was more than enough to cover lots of spaces. It has a very seedy smell - seems super natural. Can’t wait to see how it helps my yard!

Turf Builder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this, my lawn is in need of a little help. But honestly it didn’t do much. I used the recommended settings on my spreader and passed over this area 2-3 times. It didn’t improve much over the last month but maybe it would have been way worse if I hadn’t used the turf builder.

Easy application, wonderful results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really pleased with the results from Scott’s turf builder. Within a few weeks of applying it, I noticed my line becoming noticeably greener, thicker, and healthier overall. The product was easy to apply and the instructions were clear and straightforward. Would impressed me most was how even the grass filled in giving the lawn a fuller appearance. As long as you follow the recommended application guidelines it delivers consistent resu...

Best for lawn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highly recommend! If you need a product that shows consistency and keeps the maintenance to a minimum I highly recommend! The coverage and size along provided by this package has made such a difference in the yard already and I’m so impressed! Would highly recommend to all friends and family!

Hopeful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The moving company that took the previous owners things from my house damaged my lawn. I am hopeful that this will work to regrow the missing patch of grass! The packaging is waterproof, the instructions are clear, and it is safe to use.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Scott's turf builder thicker lawn sun and Shade grass seeds. It did take longer than expected about 3 weeks to see grass coming in but now we have grass growing where we had no grass its growing beautiful and green.

Perfect for my front yard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scott’s thicker lawn Son and shade variety came to me to adjust the right time because the look of my yard corner was so depressing. Last year, I parked my old car there in the grass died, leaving only bear rocks. It was incredibly depressing so I tried a bag of Scott’s thicker lawn, shade variety and it turned out to be so convenient. It’s a 3-in-1 with seed soil analysis and soil conditioner already included, so it helps activate the mix. I d...

Fast Growing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this stuff is great. We had multiple bare spots in our yard and we used this and it took care of the bare spots quickly. The grass grew quickly and looks very nice. I would definitely buy this product again.

Hard to review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hard to give a completely honest review because I feel like I haven’t seen enough to know whether this is worth it or not. But I feel as though I have seen new growth on our lawn and it seems to look more lush and green!

Great grass seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this stuff really helped my lawn grow. It was easy to apply on the patches of my lawn. We did it the day of a storm so it rained and stayed put. We watered our lawn every day and with in a few days there was new grass sprouting. It’s now been 2 1/2 weeks of constant watering and you can’t tell where the patches were on my yard. If your looking for something quick and easy this is it.

Sadly disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used Scott’s Turf Builder, Thick’R Lawn Sun and Shade to help fill a few bare patches in our backyard where items stored over the winter had killed grass underneath. The first thing I noticed was the smell when opening the bag. It was definitely a bit of a whoa factor! We applied the product according to the instructions and had plenty of rain the following week. While the seed didn’t appear to wash away, we were disappointed to only see a f...

Great seed and fertilizer combo!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did a test spot on a super dead area of our lawn, I got a little lazy with the prep, but it did take in the areas that I did put. The left half of the yellow area is where I put the seeds down to test. With some prep, water and time, this should work well. This was two weeks after I did the initial seed.

Really nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good quality , Feel so good. I have a lot of hope that this will work. Don’t smells bad. The packages is really strong. And it’s not heavy at all.

It works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve got a high traffic area of our yard that is impossible to grow grass on, we’ve tried for years. With Turf Builder we’re actually seeing little spikes coming up after a short time, even with heavy rain.

Amazing Turf Builder to make the yard look lush and vibrant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with Scott’s Turf builder, thicker, lawn, sun, and sheet! After using it, I noticed my lawn became noticeable thicker, greener, and healthier, looking grass filled in several thin spots and gave my yard a much fuller appearance. I also appreciate how easy it was to apply and that it combined seed, fertilizer, and soil, improver all in one product. With regular watering, I started seeing new growth within a few weeks, and m...

Good for smaller holes or bare spots but effective and will grow with significant water

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the most part it does work as intended but I do believe it's better suited as a filler for smaller holes. We used it on completely bare patches and it did eventually start to thicken and grow as seen in the last three photos. But it was very sparse the distance between each seedling. We followed the required spreader instructions but it didn't seem like it dropped enough to be a truly thick luscious look like the bulk of our yard. And we a...

Restores areas where a thin lawn needs help

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I noticed earlier this spring that my lawn was looking pretty sad and thin in areas, to the point of being nearly bare in some places even, and weeds were trying to take root instead. I applied this turf builder to help restore my lawn to a happier, more lush state. I liked that this was a combination of everything that I needed all in one bag. It made application easier to deal with, and faster than having to apply multiple products. We did ha...
