Won't hold up in the heat!!!

In 2022 I bought 10 bags and in the fall over seeded areas that were thinning. I have a sprinkler system and water frequently and fertilize every fall. The seed came right up and looked great until the heat hit in July. Then, it went dormant and crabgrass fills in. I finally used up the 10 bags over 3 years and I couldn't be more disappointed in this grass. It's very thin bladed, does not tolerate heat and very expensive as well. Fast results but spotty growth.

Waste of Money

It's a double whammy in wasted money for me. I read the 1-star reviews. Most 1-star reviews were about poor seed germination. I went with Scotts reputation instead and bought two (2) 32-lbs bags to overseed a lawn that was dethatched and scarified for seeding. The seeded lawn was watered are recommended. Less than 10% germination. As if it wasn't bad enough, the price dropped $20.00 per bag today - ouch!!

This product is overpriced.

Expensive for what you get.

Dont trust the website

On the Lowes website it says 2 pack which makes the price competitive with other brands at other stores so I ordered it. When I went to pick it up it was only one! I showed the cashier the website where it said 2 pack and she said there was nothing she could do so I just took the one bag and left.

Thick Green Grass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally the grass seeds have germinated. What a look! I have thick lush green grass from these seeds. It took some time for all of the seeds to germinate because I have lots of trees in my yard. It tends to hold water when it rains and I water on a regular basis. However, I believe keeping the seeds moist, as directed on the bag, is key to the results I have.

Not working

Oct 10 2023 I bought this 2 bags of Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Tall Fescue Mix from Lowes, spread it according to instructions, watered properly for 2 weeks. Nothing grew. I had soil tested ph was fine. Added Turf Builder 1.5 cu. ft. Lawn Soil when nothing germinated. That didn't help only added to my dislike of Scott products. Now I still have a bald spots on my lawn.
