Ratings & Reviews for Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader 46-lb Capacity Compatible with Ice Melt, Salt, Fertilizer, Seed

Ready to weed and feed

Already put down the early spring bag, got good precision coverage with my new high high capacity spreader

Great Product, But Beware Of Used Item

I realize that too many people today don't understand the point of reviews, and they tend to leave bad reviews for shippng issues, late delivery or lack of delivery or merchant related issues, which is not the prupose of a product review. So I will start by saying that the product itself is great. I know lots have had issues with the spreader breaking, but I have never had such an issue with my history of these. I ordered a new one today, and it was delivered from my local Lowe's, who said they ...

Sort of works

Great for Scott’s weed n feed mix. But the smallest setting is too big for triazicide insect killer or Scott’s Disease EX fungicide … either that or the cable on my new one is too short. Dumbs a bag of fungicide that is supposed to be good for 5000 sq ft on about 500 sq ft, the triazicide about the same

Broke After 4 Ordinary Uses

I treat my equipment well and maintain tools the best I can but I've had my spreader for only a year, used about 4 times, and the plastic gear teeth within the wheel broke... all of them. Worst Scott's Spreader of All Time!!

I have been buying Scotts products for years. I consider them to be a Premium brand and good quality, across the whole product family. I bought this spreader at Lowes in January 2025 for $89.98. In my opinion, that is more than it is worth but I figured I was buying quality that would last many years. In October, I was spreading fall fertilizer and the edge guard feature wasn't working. I figured something must have slipped and no big deal. Tomorrow I am hoping to spread lime so I took a clo...

Used And Dishonest

I have tried to find a way to email someone, and I've repeatedly hit roadblocks. The online chat was useless. We are just now opening to use our Scotts Broadcast tool, and not only was our box beat up, but we opened the generic Lowe's box to find someone else's used return with no paperwork or instructions. The weed/seed filler was still in all the crevices, the item was filthy, and someone thought it was acceptable to throw it in a beat up box and send it to us instead of a brand new item, like...
