Failure

Used it once. Now, nothing. Batteries are good, just doesnt go at all.

Works great, motor could be stronger.

Knowing that most people don't rate products unless they are unhappy with something. I wanted to rate this. First year works great, motor could be stronger.

Motor is weak after 1 season

Purchased at the end of last summer. Started to use it this past spring. I have a small yard so it doesn't get heavy use. I've replaced the batteries 3 times. The batteries either drain fast or the motor is weak and is or has worn out

Works good, but doesn’t seem to last very long.

Really wanted to like this product, but……. On my second one in three years. When new it works great, but after 2 or 3 times the electric motor seems to wear down. Then I change batteries, & it works so,so for a few times more. I take out the batteries between using, & give it a good rinse out. Not sure what do now. Maybe, go back to my hand crank model.

Worked great for about 10 uses... Now it's dead.

I bought this last year and it worked fine for the small 800 sqft of yard I have. I've used it less than 10 times in the year that I've had it and last week it just stopped working. I put new batteries and nothing. Just like many others have stated, it just stopped working.

Not like the old

Had one for years, worked great, when it finally gave out I bought another to no avail, this one has no power (will not throw past my shoe) I've changed batteries twice. have only used (tried) it twice. After reading these reviews, I have checked all functions, i.e.. lock switch, spreader wheel, everything seams fine, just no power.

Should work great, doesn't

Bought this a month ago, probably should have gone with the hand spreader. The motor on this doesn't work at all 95% of the time. I just got back from buying new batteries, thinking that might help but it didn't. It only works intermittently. Ended up throwing the seed out by hand. Very frustrating, total disappointed.

Needs a motor/power redesign.

I agree with the other reviewers, this is an excellent concept but needs tweaking. My Whizz is still like new. I have used it 2-3 times over a couple of seasons to spread only Preen. The motor seemed to only be working at 1/2 or 1/4 power yesterday (first time I have used it this year). I changed the batteries and the same difficulty remained. Everything else on this spreader is in excellent condition and working. I have reached out to Scotts to see if there is anything else I can do to ge...

So easy to use

Eh. When it works, it works.

It was great while it lasted. I got a good three months out of it (three uses) before it stopped working. Changed the batteries and one of the battery terminal coils broke off. Shoulda just gotten the manual feeder.

Very handy and a good alternative of a larger one.

Works very well for small yard and spot dispensing. Light and easy to handle with the perfect size receptacle for a small to medium job.

Great before it broke

Worked great the first three times I used it. After that the orange disc that distributes the fertilizer broke and jammed the machine. Great when it worked, now it just sits in my garage.

DO NOT BUY!

I wish I had read the reviews. Like so many others, I bought this and learned it was junk. Worked twice before the motor died. Replaced batteries. No luck. Buyer beware. Wasted my money. Ugh

Won’t work at all

Does not work at all. I changed the batteries and it still won’t turn on. Great concept, but faulty design

Weak motor

The motor that spins the blades is slow, even with new batteries and gets slower or even stops with too much material.

Cleaning

I have purchased 2 wizz spreaders. One lasted one season and the second lasted two seasons. I think the failure was caused by cleaning with water. Both worked great and I am going to purchase a third, but change cleaning procedure.

Disappointing

Worked OK for 1.5 summers, then it didn't. Motor died. Have only a 4000 sq. ft yard and used about 4 times a year.

Worked great for 4 applications and then, NADA.

I thought I had found the right answer for fertilizer application...after all, storage space was a great motivator in buying this. And it was for 4 applications! Then? Nothing. I replaced the batteries but NOTHING.
