Used once 3 months ago. Cleaned and stored. Took out today and doesn’t work anymore. Changed batteries and still dead.

Wiring is terrible

This spreader worked one time and ever since then I I have replaced multiple batteries and attempted to replace AA coils with no luck. The wiring system for this spreader is disappointing. I love Scotts brand but very frustrated with this spreader. Do not buy.

Do not buy. This past month I bought one at Lowes. Got home, found out it was a return with a dent in the side. It would only run about 15 sec, then stop. Checked the batterys with my battery checker, all batterys were good voltage, I put in a different brand, same thing, about 15-20 sec run time. Currently sitting on the shelf, waste of money.

This is the largest scam ever!

This is the largest piece of junk I have EVER purchased!!!!! Save your money, it's a complete rip off. It only works if there is no seed in it. I put 1 pound of wildflower seeds and it wouldn't run...with fresh batteries. I got so angry and frustrated, I threw it against my shed. I will NEVER buy another Scotts product again.

Found some issues

I purchased it new, used it for 5 min and it had no power, stalled out, etc. Replaced batteries with the same result. I took it apart. While apart the unit runs strong. As soon as I screw it together again it stalls out. I narrowed it down to an alignment issue between the sprocket on the hopper auger and the sprocket on the spreader. I could not rectify the alignment issue so I screwed it together so that just the spreader works now. The auger would be nice but it binds up the motor.

Scotts Wizz bad wire connection.

I am giving the Wizz a rating of 3 only because I fixed it, and should have had to. From the day I purchased it, it refused to work for more than 10 seconds. Replaced batteries 3 or 4 times. No luck. Finally after taking the bottom off, I found the problem to be a poor connection with the white wire. It has a small plug in connector, and the wire is loose in it, and it fails to make contact. This unit will not run

I purchased my Scotts Wizz in the summer of 2023 and used it 2 times. I removed the batteries for winter and when I attempted to use it this season it would not work. I tried 2 sets of new batteries but it still will not run. I am not happy with the unit.

Contents need help to enter the hooper

We used the Scott wiz spreader for the first time. I found that the contents in the spreader does not move down into the hooper without help. It would be nice if Scott’s provided a cleaning video. As this spreader is electronic, I am concerned about cleaning the spreader.

Poor quality product

I bought this spreader a year ago. Took out the batteries at the end of the season, now this season it won't work. I went and bought brand new lithium batteries and I tried it with no product in the hopper and thought I pulled the trigger and it seemed to work. As soon as I put product in the hopper, it no longer works. This is a very disappointing product for the price.

A real gap filler

It is very handy for spreading or lawn care products in small or hard to reach areas.

Had problems with the Malorganite fertilizer beads collecting beneath the rotary spreader plate preventing spreading of the Scotts Wizz Spreader. The design of the spreader plate needs to increase the diameter of the plate to prevent bead from passing between the housing wall and collecting underneath the spreader plate. Disappointing.

I bought it last year and used it once. I thought it was a cool idea since I am downsized to a smaller home and yard.

Failure after one season

I used mine once last summer with Scott’s weed n feed. . I went to use it this spring and it won’t spin or make a sound. I changed the batteries and still got nothing. It was stored in a dry shop.

Not Powerful Enough

I've had this Wizz Spreader for several years now. From the very beginning, it has not been that powerful. And over the years it has become even less so. I'm thinking the motor is weak because it runs on AA batteries. They need to make a more powerful model that runs on a lithium-ion rechargeable battery with a more powerful motor. The other problem I have with it is if I don't hold the spreader in the proper position, the seeds stop feeding into the hopper. They just stay on the sides unl...

Bought and used twice to good effect. The motor went out on the 3rd attempt to use.

Oil the Shaft

I've had mine for 4 seasons. 1st season, worked great. No issues. 2nd season, it stopped working right out of the shed, even with fresh batteries, I was mad! I figured out a few drops of 3-in-1 multi purpose oil on the spinning shaft brings it right back to life. 3rd season, put in fresh batteries and a few drops of oil on the shaft and we are in action. 4th season, fresh batteries and oiled the shaft. Still working great! I've used it at least 12-14 times. Still going strong, just be sure...

Uneven distribution of product

Lawn fertilizer did not distribute evenly. A manual spreader works much better.
