Elegant look

Though these treads are a bit expensive, they make for an easy, quick project for someone who has never done it before. They were a perfect, classy look for a two step up onto the platform for a wedding.

Solid oak wood treads

Easy to install. Just had to trim off bullnose from existing treads and install recap treads

I was also thinking I could use this as a shelf.

I thought I could use it on my stairs.

Solid Hardwood Tread Caps

I liked the hardwood that took stain really well. Some came cracked in the box so just make sure you inspect them beforehand.

I love these steps! They are solid oak (not engineered plywood), they are easy to cut to size and install.

Good Solution

I used this product to eliminate carpet from steps and installed this over the existing plywood treads. It's a bit pricey, but overall, probably worth the results. We used a floor stain and finish before fitting and installing them. If you're planning to use this with laminate flooring at the floors connected by this product, the top tread is a little tricky since this product is thicker than most laminate floors, so you'll need something custom at the top. Splits

Beautiful, great cover up but: I have had 1/2 of them split lengthways all the way from end to end as it’s not solid hardwood. Where it’s joined, has a tendency to split apart, great price for what you get but, be prepared, not 100% good quality or appearance after it splits! And not returns or refunds!!!

I have a bilevel home. The stairs going to the lower level were pine and covered with carpeting. The carpeting was in need of replacement and after removing it, the stairs were in need of upgrading.
