Child lock to keep young kids in the house
Would RecommendWe used this chain lock and other extra door locks to keep kids in in case they wake up before us. Our grandkids spend the night sometimes and we have seen on TV that young children have been found wandering on streets with no idea where they live or name. This and other types of extra door locks give us peace of mind. This one and others are mounted high so even with their step stool they can't reach them. Would Not RecommendI used this as a way to safely answer the door for example: solicitors/salesman/unwanted company. I thought it was a good idea, until I accidentally opened the door and it broke. I was just casually opening the door. I’m glad it happened now so I can address it but I will not be purchasing this product again. To be clear the piece that connects the chain to the wall broke, not the chain itself or the wall mounts but the small round piece that attaches to the wall mount.
Chain was to long
Would Not RecommendChain is to long. When locked I was able to reach inside and slide the chain off. Did not expect product to stop the door from being kicked in, but it shouldn't be so long anyone can reach inside while it is locked and just take it off. Now I have to undo everything take it back and start over. I have had this style of lock in several apartments over the past couple of decades and this is the only one I could unlatch from the outside while it was locked.
Cool looking but...
Would Not RecommendI was on the inside and pulled the door with little-medium strength and the part connected to the chain ripped off the door frame. I figured that would happen because those locks always have too small of screws. But the reason I gave two stars was because the metal piece connected to the chain actually bent in half. In the photo I screwed it back to the wall but you can see the bend mark near the top.

Would Not RecommendThe chain is way Too long. I can't mount the two parts far enough from each other to take all the slack out of the chain. My 3 year old can walk through and I can reach through and unhook the chain.

Would Not RecommendI purchased this lock for 1 reason, to keep my children inside. After installing the chain lock my 4 yr old just flung the door open and the chain broke ... When I thought about it was kinda funny and when I told him that, he replied with "well I guess in just stronger than it"
