Plastic and not 3.15"

Extremely light duty. Cheap price, cheap quality. Didn't fit my pole which is 3" aluminum.

Screw Connections to Post

There is no recommended screw type or size provided in the instructions with this item. Sealing the screw head to prevent moisture from entering the base requires a sealant, if a waterproof connection is desired.

PLASTIC light mount. NOT aluminum as advertised.

I have 6 of these on my fence I purchased years ago. Upon extending the fence I went to Lowes to get 2 more. Only to realize they are are now selling PLASTIC light mounts. I asked if they would sell me the aluminum ones they had on display and was told NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. So I called Lowes customer service to see if they would help me get an aluminum one like displayed only to be told since the store manager said no, there was nothing she could do. This product wasn't even worth the price I paid for it. The "cast Aluminum" has to be tin foil. It shattered when we put the pole down on it. Gave it one star because it looks like the picture

Specifications/Description Misleading

The description indicates that it is 3.15" (center hole) and will fit a 3" post. I found the inside diameter to be 2 13/16" and the outside diameter to be 2 7/8". Obviously it will not fit my 3" post. The description is wrong and misleading.

Great value, aluminum, so easy to drill into

I didn't see any holes to screw the lantern into. However, it was easy to drill into , since it's aluminum. Very little effort. Looks great, and great value.

Recommended with caution

Installed on brick columns in order to attach light fixtures. Recognize that whatever you attach it to, you will need screws. This is the second time I have had to purchase this item as previous purchase had the black paint peel off to expose white powdery rust after several years of use. Unfortunately, I have not found any product that appears to be of higher quality and perhaps the rust problem was caused by attaching to the brick mortar.

Great for small room.

Replaced a 2 light fixture with this fan with light kit. Keeps room cooler and brighter.

Not a color match and plastic

I bought this base to use with Portfolio post light item #47859. Product is plastic and not cast aluminum like the light fixture. I don't expect the base to hold up very well to the UV rays of the sun. Also the color match of the base of 'Old Rubbed Bronze' is not even close - base is drying in the garage after a paint job from a closer color-match spray can of paint. I'd say Portfolio is not manufacturing this base, but a third party. Not sure I can find a stronger base to fit and will install ...

Great quality and color

This pedestal worked great with my new Corrigan post lights. The bronze has a nice finish.

Good Value, but not as described

This base for a post mount light appears adequate to do the job, and is sold at a far better price that most products intended for the same purpose. Thus it is a great value, and I am quite satisfied with my purchase. However, the specification provided on the web site indicates it is made from cast aluminum. It appears to actually be made from stamped aluminum sheet metal, and has nowhere near the strength and rigidity one would expect from a casting. Realistically, I would not expect to be abl...

Difficult to mount

This mount matched the light perfectly but I found it very difficult to mount. No hardware was included and the instructions said to purchase concrete anchor bolts. This product is not flush mounted but rather has about a 3/4" raised surface. I ended up attaching 2 1x2 pieces of wood to the concrete with concrete screws and then screwing the mount to the wood. I hope I do not have any issues with the wood rotting and needing to be replaced.

Good product

This was an attractive way to mount my two post lights to the top of wooden posts. It is easy to use and holds the lights securely.
