Would RecommendI first tried self adhesive oak edging from a popular woodworking source and it wouldn't stick adequately. I then tried this edging from Lowes, talked my wife into letting me use her iron and it went on easy and stays put.
hide wood end grain
Would RecommendVery easy, heat activated trim. Great for hiding ugly plywood laminations.
Works well
Would RecommendUsed this to edge band the work surface and drawer faces on a plywood workstation in my shop. Worked very well, no problems.
Veneer Edging
Would RecommendGreat product. Used it for 2 desks. Makes any piece of plywood look great when finished.
Good but not great
Would RecommendGlue didn't always want to stick. Also had issues when sanding it because glue would form an edge and was difficult to clear off board.
So simple to use; even I can do it!
Would RecommendFirst time I have ever used the product. But it will not be the last. So simple and the end job looks fantastic. makes plywood look like a solid wood pieces.
Looks nice and easy to use.
Would RecommendI bought this product to edge band some plywood shelves I was making. I found it to be really easy to work with as well as forgiving to mistakes. Instructions were clear enough that a first time user could get the job done with ease. Only thing to worry about is the location of the splices. They were done really well but are still visible if you look hard enough just plan ahead and don't put a splice anywhere it is going to matter.
Oak Iron On Edge Banding
Would RecommendHigh quality red oak, 3/4" width, Irons onto plywood easily. Sand it even, then stain or apply the finish. Holds up well. Never had any problems. Iron set to max (no steam setting), rub tight with small block of wood while hot to remove any air bubbles. trims easily with scissors or utility knife, and sands well with 250 grit sandpaper, and sand details with finger nail file. I also ironed to a 3/8" radius with no problems. An excellent product!
3/4" x 25' Red Oak Veneer Iron on edging. $6.58.
Would RecommendI had to edge two pieces of oak plywood and stain them. The oak veneer was easy to iron on the wood and it held very well! I didn't have any glue spillover either. It also took stain easily and evenly.
Best edge banding I've ever used!!
Would RecommendI do a lot of work with oak and birch plywood and use this edge banding on some of my projects to finish off the wood so you can't see the layers of plywood. In all the years I've used this edge banding, none have ever come off. I use a hot iron to glue the banding to my clean plywood edge. Then I use double sided edge trimmer to remove any excess. If you make a mistake, it's easy to reheat the edge banding, and reposition it.
Finally, something that works as advertised
Would RecommendUsed this to edge plywood for a cabinet that my wife wanted me to build for her. I followed the instructions perfectly by filling in the holes with drywall paste, sanding to make smooth. Applied with our iron and it worked flawlessly. It does tend to drift when hot to the side you are applying it to, but all you have to do is heat it again and the glue becomes soft and you can adjust it. Really cleaned up the project.
Well Made
Would RecommendI like this product. It went on easy and adhered to the plywood.
Nice product
Would RecommendFirst time user of any iron on edging. Was very easy to use and apply as once the heat was on it, it adhered well. Took the stain nicely. The only recommendation is to purchase an edging tool which I should have done. I used a razor blade to cut off the excess and that could have gone better with a tool designed for the product, I think.
Excellent Product
Would RecommendI am refurbishing a desk and the veneer trim was chipped and broken. I went online and found that Lowe's carried the veneer tape in store. It is easy to work with, cuts with scissors, adheres with the heat from an iron and takes any stain or paint with no problem.
WOW!! THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
Would RecommendI refaced my cabinets with oak veneer and used this on the outer edges. It is applied with an iron and really locks in place. It took the stain/polyurethane so well you cant tell where the veneer stops and this starts. I would not be shy in recommending this product to anyone.
I had a positive experience with this product as did many of the reviewers to this point. I used the edging while finishing a piece of 3’x4’ plywood into work board / cutting surface for my shop, and had the following observations which I hope others will find helpful. [+] Factory adhesive is applied evenly to the strip’s backing - strong hold after melting during application but no excess glue to goop things up along the edge of your workpiece. [+] The edging is 3/4” wide but of course not al...
