Lid came off pretty easily

If you follow the directions that the company gives here to pull up on the lid from where the tab was, you can get the lid off without much effort. I'm not very strong-being a tiny woman, but I did put my knee on the middle of the lid and pulled up and I was able to pry it off. Used the product, and I see the product is working to melt the snow and ice.

Lid Tough to Remove

Lid was very difficult to remove. Took me about 20 minutes with a screwdriver. Base on that, even if the product is good, I would not buy again.

Terrible packaging

Product is okay if you can get the bucket open. Totally disgusted with the container and I wish I had read the reviews first. I had to use a screw driver to pry the lip of the top off, it took 10 minutes after I went and read the reviews and saw how one person got it open. I bought 2, I will be returning the unopened product. Do not buy.

At very least, the package could have instructions for how to open this product. But they would have lost customers when they said, "Pull tab, bear full weight on center of top and pry lid off with full force while continuously putting full weight on center of lid." No comment yet on how product works, but for the love of god, show some empathy toward the customer.

You'll need a crowbar and/or muscles to open it

I could not open the product without taking it to Customer Service where six people tried to open the lid. Finally a Marine vet employee was able to open it but I had to hammer a screw driver into the lid and bloody a knuckle to get it open.

Good product. Lid needs improvements

No instructions how to remove the lid. It’s easy when you know to snap the tap off then stick screwdriver or something similar between lid and bucket rim at tab. Then slide the tool around between the lid and bucket rim.

Paw safe!!

Hopefully this works on my driveway this winter and keeps my pups paws safe!

Great delivery, have used product in the past, works as it says and doesn't bother my dogs pads.

Would recommend BUT.... Read this before buying

This is a good product, however, the manufacturer seems to be oblivious or just wants to ignore the issue with opening this thing. It should not take the claw side of a hammer and your foot on the container to open this product. Can you summon the strength to open this bucket?

As others have mentioned, some sick sadist working in Lowes product development created this bucket and the tab intended to unlock it. I wish this product only cost me time. But it cost me a relationship too. I'll never look at my boyfriend the same, after he couldn't muster the strength to open this bucket. I had previously failed to follow the instructions to get it open with the help of gloves and a putty knife for leverage after I pulled the tab and tried using my knee on the bucket to pry ...

Safer for pets

I was a little concerned about how difficult this might be to open according to the reviews but I didn't find it too difficult at all by following the advice to kneel in the center of the lid to release the seal. I'm a 60+year old woman and had no problems. I scooped some into an easier to shake out of empty container. Yet to see how it will help with our ice build up. I appreciate that it's safer for the dog than what my husband usually buys.
