Good product needs a different bucket

I like this product because it doesn’t leave residue behind like rock salt and it’s supposed to be pet friendly. They could do something better with the lid. It’s a BiT€h to open.

Love it. Melts snow and ice creating an easy clean up of snow. This product aids in keeping you from getting a heart attack and leaving a care free shovel. Will purchase again, I recommend this product.

I wanted this to put in our steps/walks for pet safety. I read the reviews & saw the one where the reviewer told how he opened the lid with a screwdriver. I showed that to my son who used the same technique & opened it with a little effort but not as bad as others have said. The secure lid is necessary to prevent moisture-Ive read other brands where buyers were getting wet, clumped sometimes unuseable product.

Safe for pets and concrete!!

I love that this Magnesium Chloride is both safe for Pets and won't damage your concrete sidewalks and steps like rock salt tends to do. This will be my go-to going forward.

stuff does not work

it has been low 15 and high 25 and the stuff just freezes makes the steps worse way more icy than just ice

Stained my concrete

yes, the lid is very hard to open - but once past that it's not too big of a deal. My issue is that it completely stained my concrete and patio. Wherever the product was applied now is darker than the rest of the concrete and an oily residue is left. Not thrilled with the results.

Solved the Lid Puzzle!

I couldn't budge the lid with fingers or a pry bar. Then I ran a large, flat-blade screwdriver under the entire lid (pushing the screwdriver around, tangential to the rim), and POP -- the lid unsealed itself! The product is good, the enclosed scoop is fab, and the tight seal of the lid keeps moisture out and the product useable indefinitely.

Is there a trick to opening this?!

This was probably the most frustrating purchase I’ve ever made. I purchased for my household, my elderly parents and my elderly aunt. It took an hour to pry it open with a screwdriver and that was after my mother figured it out. There are no directions. Maybe I’m missing something but this was absolutely insane

Burns dog paws

I have three dogs and never had trouble with salt before. As soon as we started using this, our dogs cry and whimper and jump when they walk across the deck. It’s gotten to the point they are truly afraid to go outside. If we don’t carry them down the stairs 5 times a day they hold it until they end up going in the house. This product ruined our life. Avoid
