What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the cedar mailbox post for its attractive appearance, durability, and natural weather resistance. Many highlight its rich color, aromatic scent, and curb appeal, with reviewers noting it feels sturdy and well-built. The cedar's insect resistance and rot durability are frequently valued, especially when sealed or stained. However, many note the post falls short of USPS installation standards, requiring extension or modification. A few mention inconsistent workmanship like splinters or rough surfaces, though most resolve these with basic sanding. Overall, reviewers consider it a worthwhile choice despite dimensional limitations.

Would Not Recommendlast one in stock, cedar mailbox post, kept outside so shows results of the weather. Arm of the post almost five inches shorter than the current one I am replacing. Recommend you keep wood products in the building.

The post is short
Most installation instructions I see are to bury the post up to 24" but not more in the ground. The post is not long enough bury 24". Depending on the height above street level you will be burying 12" to 16" in the ground. I do not believe that is deep enough for a secure mailbox - especially in areas with snow and snowplows. I added 8 " by attaching a board to the end.

Rough and knotty
Out of a stack of about eight posts, I chose the particular one that was least flawed, that being it had no cracks or chips. However, the finish was marred by black, markings one face of the post. I got the idea it was a backyard operation or somebody assembling multiple product .

Cedar but too short
Would RecommendOnly cedar post I could find. However, like other reviews have stated, the post is too short and the build quality is poor. I needed to add a wood screw or two to keep it from moving when I opened the mailbox. To be one inch above the USPS minimum height, with my yard grading, I could only get 12" of the post in the ground. To still use this post, I bought a three foot section of 1.5"x1.5" angle aluminum. I screwed this to the bottom 12" of the post and trimmed off about 10". This served a...

Shrinkflation?
Would Not RecommendI bought this post to replace a previous cedar post that had been purchased from Lowe's. The previous post had been damaged so I thought this would be a direct one for one replacement. What I discovered is the post is shorter. The distance from the arm to the bottom of the post went from 57 in to 52 and 1/2. The length of the arm jetting towards the street had gone from 19 and 1/2 to 15 and 3/8. The short vertical piece above the arm had gone from 18 and 1/4 to 14 and 5/8. I'm sure that cost pla...
