What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the cedar mailbox post for its attractive appearance, durability, and natural weather resistance. Many highlight its rich color, aromatic scent, and curb appeal, with reviewers noting it feels sturdy and well-built. The cedar's insect resistance and rot durability are frequently valued, especially when sealed or stained. However, many note the post falls short of USPS installation standards, requiring extension or modification. A few mention inconsistent workmanship like splinters or rough surfaces, though most resolve these with basic sanding. Overall, reviewers consider it a worthwhile choice despite dimensional limitations.

Would Not RecommendCrudely constructed (and I chose the best of three available at the time of purchase) and too short to bury enough to be stable and still meet the USPS code for mailbox height (41-45" above road surface). I was only able to bury it 15" and it's only 38" above the road. Next time, should there be one, I'll make it myself.

Employee was very helpful
Would RecommendThere were several that were in poor shape, but out of the 17 they had, I was able to find a good one. One had a very bad warp and many had splitting boards.

Nails OK Screws Better
I guess I was expecting how I would've made this as opposed to how it actually was made. The wood was great, cedar. How it was cut was rough like cedar typically is for an outside post. I honestly was expecting it to be screwed together rather than 12 to 16 penny nails. I quickly modified that as I keep screws around for that sort of thing. Other than that, it's great. Maybe like some of the other cedar fence posts and mailbox posts I've put up over the years, this one will outlast my own lifeti...
Standing Tall
Would RecommendCeder will last longer under Louisiana weather conditions. Post could be a little longer to allow greater planting depth and still maintain a 42 to 45" mailbox level. this one should last until a distracted motorist knocks it down again.

cedar should last longer
Cedar was strait and well made. I gave it two coats of paint and stuck in the ground, nice and sturdy.

Make sure to get mailbox post with longer post.
Would Not RecommendThe bottom post from bottom of the part where mailbox set was 57”. Postal service recommended mailbox should be 45-41” of the ground. I wanted 45” but that would only leave 12” to go in ground, even at 41” it would only have 16” in ground. So post was not long enough to properly install. Had to buy treated 4x4 cut it attached need length to 2 sides of post to get proper length and added sacreate to stabilize. Otherwise product was fine but if you put it deep enough into the ground to be stable i...
