Good Product, Bad Reliability

Would Not Recommend

Just a homeowner, not a contractor. But we are doing a lot of remodeling and have used this tool a lot. It is a very helpful tool and it is nice that it is part of the 20V family. But its been just over a year and the tool is dying. I will now have to find a service center and see if dealing with that mess will be worth it. Prepping myself for costly and/or inconvenient "warranty" work, where buying a new one might be easier. Will question buying Porter-Cable for this tool again though. Honestly...

Bought because i had another 20 Volt tool.

Would Recommend

I feel that the Porter Cable tools are outstanding value for homeowner / occasional user. I have B&D 18 volt set, along with multiple Porter Cable 18 volt tools and they (Porter Cable) are substantially better. I am trying to justify getting more of the 20 volt tools, but have too many 18 volt units at present, maybe a garage sale is in the works or E-Bay auction.

Doesnt cut through wood as well as dremel

Would Not Recommend

I bought this to replace my dremel, however, the cutting blade and tool vibrate excessively and don't have major results. Will be returning this tomorrow.

Very handy tool

Would Recommend

I purchased this to initially use for cutting fractions of an inch from the bottom of door trim to accommodate laminate wood flooring. It did a great job and saved tons of time. This was my first time using any oscillating tool, and while this won't get as much use as some of my other more common power tools, I'll certainly be glad I own it when the need arises.

What did I ever do without an Oscillating Tool!

Would Recommend

Bought the hammer drill a month earlier for a project. Then I found myself with cutting holes in some drywall and removing other drywall. Also, cutting some CPVC pipes in awkward places. Glad the sales person talked to me about the move to the new standard of 20 Volt batteries. Also, the battery stays charged in the charger so it is ready for me.

I have only use this tool once but it worked very well. The tool less blade change works good nice and easy. The battery held up well also. The 20pc accessory kit was a nice surprise too.
